I don't think categorized by vehicles will work, bucause many mods are released as pack with content for different vehicles, so the author will have to categorize it as all the vehicles it contains, which still can't solve the problem (eg in the D-Series section you still find a lot mods whichi may only contain a little content with D-Series)
The devs usually start ramping up with teasers shortly before releasing updates and usually release on Tuesday so hopefully this coming or next Tuesday
I have no doubt that, if the devs sought to use a machine learning solution for game AI, that it would not need to continue to learn after being deployed on customer copies. That I understand. Thing is, while machine learning can get scary good at executing a task after a few thousand generations, it tends to do so in a brute-force manner. The code it generates is generally highly unoptomized and vestigial: if generational machine learning is supposed to be an analogue of biological evolution, some of the code it produces is built of proverbial tailbones, appendixes, and wisdom teeth. Stuff that isn't needed, but steals performance anyway. And to make matters worse, it's completely unintelligible to a human being, so even manually slimming such code down is pretty well impossible.
I think one of the devs said we might not be a 1.0 version, prefer to say that the game is updating frequently to not really have a "public release".
I think the 2 month update span was just an anomaly, but I guess you never know but i wouldnt mind a 2 month update schedule
I think its new trend, look we already have all of teasers for this update, it could very well come out this week. --- Post updated --- i mean, 1.0 means nothing. Its just a number.
To be fair, if they're going to be doing mostly refreshes for the next few updates (and assuming they're of the same quality as the Burnside/Miramar refreshes), having them only take two months would be believable. It'd take much less effort to edit an existing vehicle than it would to make a whole new one. I don't think we'll be getting a second refresh this update, though - probably won't be getting much else for the other vehicles. However, seeing the props get major attention is very nice.
[QUOTE=". --- Post updated --- i mean, 1.0 means nothing. It’s just a number.[/QUOTE] BeamNG should release though.
Im pretty sure one of devs (stenyak?) said that they plan to work on the game "forever" (or for a very long time) and that it won't ever be truly "finished". And the number probably doesn't mean much, why would they plan exactly 100 major updates and then be done with the game, doesn't make much sense. Now on the topic of early access, my theory is that they will exit it once they have all the features they planned to actually make it a "game" (Like finishing career mode).
Though most games don’t actually go through every update till 1.0, they just release when they think its ready.
I think there's a misunderstanding of how software versioning works. These aren't just numbers that add up like dollars and cents, but rather independent numbers where an update to a left-most one resets the others to its right to zero. This means a version jump from 0.99 directly to 1.0 would be just a mere coincidence. It's far more likely that the next version in the sequence would be 0.100. Ideally, we'll only have version 1.0 when the game leaves Early Access, that is, when everything planned (game modes, physics, optimization, etc.) is in a finished state.
Yeah, a dot may happen to be used as a decimal separator in the english language, but that's just a coincidence. Versions are simply 4 independent numbers. As proven by our v0.9.0.5 update being followed by v0.10.0.0, and not v1.0
