Yeah, this is a first. And the funniest part is that, despite all of the teasers, we still don't know most of what we're gonna get.
This update is definetly centered around props, remastering or adding new ones. The teaser is probably a trampoline.

I want to disagree strongly. Current Beam tire model may not be the most accurate, but it is still quite true to life. Because of that, I don't think the tire update will change much in how cars drive in general. If anything, I expect minor changes to how tires react to extreme stress or punctures. I really doubt they'd do anything that would require any car to be retuned – because that would likely mean all cars would need retuning. So, what I expect to see with the tire update are thousands of disappointed players that expect a revolution but instead got pretty much the same thing. Maybe with thermals. Spoiler And the new vehicle is coming in late 2026 because the dev team is small after all (do they even have an in-house car 3D artist?), and it does take quite a long time to develop a car from scratch. More so if you want it to be something actually new and polished, not the same thing with a new skin.
The new tires will still change the game because of thermals. You are quite the party pooper, eh? If you look at the BeamNG.tech tire model, it looks heavily improved. With thermals it will change the feeling of driving at high stress completely. Sure just driving around obeying the laws will still feel the same, but who tf does that unless they are roleplaying? The fact that is you beat the shit out of your cars tires they will now pop or something due to stress will completely change the game. --- Post updated --- They used to out source, but now I am pretty sure its in house.

from the way it bounces definetly not a inflated mat, inflated mat is too big, would roll off the cliff, and would not bounce that fast even at high inflations. also why would they remaster the inflated mat when the only thing they could do about it is changing the textures. its a trampoline or some other bouncy thingy, but definetly powered by springs and not air.
partially agree/disagree. Small changes can make a big impact on the way you drive a car. You said it yourself “extreme stress” scenarios, which last time I checked, is how we drive cars in this game 90% of the time. It will definitely change the way cars behave at the limits of grip, and other extreme scenarios that they hinted at in the development video. I agree with comments in the past that you SHOULD be able to induce a rollover on vehicles with a higher center of gravity- suvs/box trucks etc, but you really can’t in game at the moment with most cars. That means there’s a fundamental inadequacy in the tire model. And this is coming from someone who thinks the current tire model is already pretty impressive. The devs are not resting on their laurels and are targeting points to improve and they wouldn’t spend the time, money, and manpower to overhaul their tire model for no net gain
