When do you expect to release the demo also?

It doesn't even stop modders from just stealing the paid version from modland to make their mod either. So what's the point?

I guess to ensure that no fun can be had with the demo.

Only admiring of crash physics and texture resolutions.

do you accept "ignore this and move on" as an awnser? if i cant buy or dont want to buy something because of the price i dont write an angry comment to that seller because of it, i get that you dont like paying for mods, but you arent "entitled" to them and seeing the work that it takes to make one i would expect people to understand why they are being sold. (Apologies for the tone being a tad aggressive, not my intention)

Removed that point, ofc you can make mods for the demo, but I wanted to point out that it’s not really recommended. The main mod and the demo will use different file names and paths, which means a mod will only work on one or the other, that could lead to confusion or worse.

Not sure, focusing on hotfixes right now, I'll let chat know when I start working on it.

why should he pay for someones hobby? there's recently been trend on doing paid mods, ik that the creator may want to monetize it, tho this is A HOBBY that most people make for free without expecting any monetization on it, and the guy who wrote the original comment just brought that up and nothing more.

videgames are a hobby, why should i pay for someones hobby? there was a trend in the 70s on doing paid videogames, ik that the creators wanted to monetize them, tho this is A HOBBY that most people made for free without expecting any monetization on it, but things changed.

I definitely see where you're coming from, and I wholeheartedly agree that no one is entitled to another's labors, but if a product is offered for sale in a public forum (that was never intended to be an advertising board, a small cadre of profiteers just decided to start doing it), I believe it's entirely reasonable to comment on the price and the content. Also, to specify, I did purchase the mod when I made my first post, and it's definitely a good start, but it honestly has barely the minimum of what I would expect from a mod half its price. Take a look at LucasBE's mods, just as an example, which feature better crash structures, full mod support, simplified traffic variants, and just much more content in general (for a lower price).

Again, not a bad mod by any means, and it's good enough that I didn't delete it right away, but let's remember who is asking for what here.

you know that crashed the whole gaming industry in the US, right? like nintendo had to come in with a self-contained regulatory system and aggressive licensing practices just to convince people that they weren't scammers (and i'm still not entirely sure they aren't)

now THAT we agree on :)

tbh i was just about to edit my post with a note apologizing for my general tone, though I don't really know any other way of communicating I know my casual sarcasm can be (rightfully) seen as disrespectful by a lot of people. i'm not all that worked up about any of this, it's still way less absurd than most of the non-Beam gaming industry :p

oh also what were the quality issues/lack of content that you mentioned? ive been testing it and ive only found minor stuff that ive already reported to traxR, and contentwise its beyond my expectations considering its a boring ass van from the 90s
mind you i might be cooked since the last mods ive done a thorough "review" on have been that alfa mod with a stolen forza model and royalrenderings M4 so

it's quite rigid, like crash it into a wall and notice how much more it bounces off than a default or other modded vehicles rather than absorbing the impact through deformation. content-wise, i just feel like there's not a whole lot here beyond the basic police variants and street tuned. There's no derby, drift, drag, or (my personal biggest disappointment) camper variant.

Like you say, there's not much to reasonably expect from a '90s van, but for almost five dollars I would expect.... something. Again, look at comparable products, LJ's Signia and RUSH have diverse config sets, and their Gavril Dynamo has a dang turbine engine! (based off a real prototype car, no less).

I sometimes cringe at the thought of having to even criticize something like this, as there's not much fundamentally wrong with it, but then I remember that it's being voluntarily sold for five dollars a copy (infinite digital copies, by the way, no actual cost beyond that already voluntarily paid by the author) and it seems a little more reasonable.

    also this

granted, I understand that Sales Tax doesn't go to the creator in any way, but it's still a byproduct of them choosing to involve money in what was otherwise a moneyless interaction. also, can we stop pricing things at x.99? on a digital marketplace the old "stop cashiers from stealing" narrative doesn't work anymore, it's just pure deception.
