Offering the tools to test and develop ADAS stuff is a bit different to having fully implemented realistic systems that work. I mean, take a look at the AI in the .drive branch, doesn't inspire much confidence
If I had to guess, the update might drop on Thursday, with another teaser on Tuesday. This would allow them to iron out any last-minute bugs that they find, and finalize the content.
We do not know much info besides that it uses new tech, and will release mid 2026. Thats all we know.
Thank you for responding. The swirly shape has indeed immediately reminded me of the ETKs, but like I've said, I've been thrown off by that long stretch that went into the other slots. It's reassuring to hear that you're actively thinking of modders when developing new features. I am very excited either way.
What are our bets the update will be out tomorrow? I think it will be Thursday, no teaser tomorrow. What you guys bet?
After making myself a spreadsheet of all the update release dates and times since 0.3.8.1 (April 2015), I'm not quite quite as sure if the devs would be releasing the update this week as I was last week. Every major update in September since that time (0.4.2, 0.26, 0.30, 0.33) has been around the 18th-20th. And considering that's 10 years of historical evidence...it's fair enough if people think that's going to happen this year, as well. However, both 0.3.0.4 and 0.3.6 released earlier in September (the 11th and 9th, respectively), so there is precedence for major updates in September before the 18th. Also, here's a table of the average update release day gaps, times, days in the week, and the number of teasers for each update (and how many days there were from the last teaser to the update releasing). As for the update "eras", I mostly considered what was significant about each group of updates (the first had many vehicle and map releases, the second is very feature- and map-heavy while being vehicle-light, the third was the beginning of the remasters, and our current one has been defined by its focus on yearly themes). I ended each era with a significant December update (0.8 had the last OG vehicle (LeGran) for many years, 0.15 had the last map (Italy) for several years, and 0.27 had the largest number of vehicles in a single update since 0.3). If you were to exclude 0.17.1, 0.18.3, and 0.24.1, the average day gap for 0.16-0.27 would be around 121 days. (The "day in week" counter goes from Sunday (1) to Saturday (7).) I also have the minimums and maximums here: Spoiler: Minimums and Maximums Here are the maximums... And here are the minimums. Since major ".1" or ".3" updates aren't really done anymore, I excluded those from the day gaps for the 0.16-0.27 updates. Including those, the minimum would be 10 days (0.18 -> 0.18.3, 9 December -> 19 December 2020). As of today, we've gotten 7 teasers for 0.37 and it's been 75 days since 0.36. (I previously made a post saying that last week had been 74-77 days, but I miscalculated on that.) We are nearing the minimum day gap for post-0.27 major updates (77 days, 0.29 -> 0.30 and 0.35 -> 0.36) and nearing the maximum number of teasers post-0.27 (9, 0.28 and 0.35, although at least one teaser for 0.28 was made before 0.27 released). So, I think it's very likely that we'll be getting an update some time in September - probably between the 3rd (77 days) and the 11th (85 days). (0.31 was 85 days after 0.30, 0.34 was 83 days after 0.33.) I just don't think that retrocompatibility could be done much faster than that, especially when they're altering existing content. Also, here's the main spreadsheet, if y'all want to look at all the numbers for the updates and teasers. It's an .ods file, so you can open it with OpenOffice or LibreOffice (both of which are free).
Hey does anyone notice that on the Marshall in the last teaser, that the rims are different? Or is that just me.
It's probable that the GM will receive a refresh at least . The interior was okay and and the frame textures needs some love ! They could add some wheels ( like you are suspecting ) and maybe a V6 too while they are there that would be cool !
I was about to say that a V6 wouldn't be very archetypical for the GM, since the '92-'11 Panther-body cars all used V8s, but the '91-'96 Caprice did get a V6 for the taxi versions. That same V6 could probably also be put into the facelift Roamer/H-Series, and maybe the later D-Series. However, I think it'd be more likely for the devs to put the straight-six into the GM (if it can fit - I know there was a straight-six in the Ibishu Diadem (which is pretty much a modified Grand Marshal)), since it's already been made. Gavril is also very much a straight-six brand (at least, for the petrol engines) - a V6 would be more fitting for a Bruckell vehicle (the only straight-six in a Bruckell is in the Moonhawk).
YES 100% wanting a i6 in it, also a center console would be great, AND my UNREALISTIC wish list, Coupe or wagon, BUT am just happy with a re-freash/ ( or a remake ) AND the limo
There's still a couple hours to go before I would definitively write off today - although, yeah, it's not very likely at this point. Since 0.25, there have only been two updates that have released after 14:00 UTC (0.26, 14:55 (in ~40 minutes) and 0.33, 16:20 (~2 hours from this point)). We have had several instances in the past few years of one last teaser being snuck in a day before the update (see: 0.19, 0.25, 0.30, 0.33, 0.34). So, it would not surprise me if the devs decided to drop their eighth teaser of the surprise nuclear bomb that they've spent 10 years working on adding to the game Grand Marshal facelift and/or another funny prop, like a PC or a bed frame for the mattress.
You know what's funny is it's both of those two vehicles always haunting other vehicles that seem to have been updated or refreshed.... Maybe the Grand Marshal and whatever the other vehicle is are hunting down the update they get remastered
