A lot of cars have otherwise identical configs where the only difference is the gearbox type. Has the team considered giving vehicle tiles sub-buttons for gearbox so there's less to look through? Some cars have so many configs it would be nice quality of life.
the vehicle selector is too small and has completely killed any muscle memory ive had with selecting the cars
Thanks, already on it! Problem is that some mods have unexpected data in some fields... And in a meantime, you can try disabling some of the vehicle mods to find which one is broken.
You really should consider changing the CEF engine to something else, the performance of the UI is awful and it is not getting better. For example there is Coherent Gameface which is like CEF but rewritten from scratch using ECS so it is very highly optimized. From free open-source projects there is RmlUI https://github.com/mikke89/RmlUi Both projects are using HTML and CSS standards with some minor changes.
so, in vehicle menu you must reset to defaults, every time you go to vehicle menu. It's like it automatically has a filter on it every time.
In the new car selector I have to reset its configuration to default every time I open it because it doesn't show anything otherwise. It doesn't even show individual display options until I reset. --- Post updated --- If I hit the trash icon next to the search box it also resets all car selector settings. huh, why is that button there? The main reset button is in a submenu and red, why need for another button in the main view that doesn't even say what it does? Edit: Okay, some mod is causing this. I'll try to see if I can figure out which Also there's two back buttons right on top of each other, not a bug but design issue.
It is caused by "The Behemoth" mod https://www.beamng.com/resources/legran-8x8-the-behemoth.27102/ Is the mod author supposed to figure this out or is this an edge case Beam team is going to fix? --- Post updated --- I think car selector is unloading thumbnails too aggressively. I can see them being loaded in for the next line. It's ugly and kinda annoying. loading one extra off-screen line both above and below current view could be the solution.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. The favorites area and being able to change the size of the menu icons of vehicles is something I have always wanted.
Thanks for the suggestion We have evaluated that as well as many other candidates over the course of years. Unfortunately all of them have some drawbacks together with whatever advantages they might have over CEF. It's a matter of picking the least-bad of them all, for each use case. To name one example, no existing UI library was acceptable for our minimap UI app, performance-wise, feature-wise and legal-wise (is that a word? sorry, not a native english speaker). This has forced us to spend more than a year (natural time, not work time) developing our own SDF rendering system, that fully replaces the HTML solution we tried so hard for years. We wish there was a solution that was as simple as just switching UI library, but in our evaluations, we haven't seen anything suitable yet. CEF continues to be the least-bad of them all. We continue monitoring the landscape of UI libraries though, in case something usable pops up tomorrow that ticks all the technical and legal checkmarks we require
Hey, been loving the performance improvment on the UI overall. Besides the Vehicle selector issue, is there a way to make the "go back to main UI" or action (or any other menu shortcut really) stop pausing the game ? It was that way before and i liked being able to navigate menus while my car was moving.
I quite like the floating design of the new UI, but I'm not sure if the UI apps should be moved up as if the old menu bar were there in the vehicle config menu.
salut j'aimerai avoir le menue de véhicules précèdent sa ma complètement perdu s'il vous plait si quelqu'un serait me donnez une réponses
Hey, the fix for the Vehicle menu worked perfect. Although sometimes i still have fatal LUA error messages popping up sometimes. Mostly about paint stuff. I assume it's caused by a mod, but maybe that's also something to do with the unexpected values stuff that was blanking the UI before the hotfix... Pic attached of an example message. --- Post updated --- Also, every now and then, i have to reset the display options for the cars to show up again in the selector.
Great ai, completely change my input mapings and make it impossible for me to even experience the mew update, fix your broken game and don't change shit for people who have their shit setup
