The new UI update has been fantastic! I love how snappy it is now. One issue has been with the new minimap. It seems that activating drops my fps in half from ~120FPS to ~55FPS. Frame rate immediately goes back to normal as soon as its hidden. Hopefully it can be optimized without too much hassle, I think it looks great.
The new UI looks decent, however something I've noticed even after the hotfix had been posted, it takes a bit of a gamble for vehicles to show up in the vehicle selector, and only way I've found a way to get them to show is flicking the "Include Standalone PC files" option back and forth under Display Options seems to get them to show. However, my biggest problem that I've had so far is being able to select another map, to which, I'm met with a blank window/tab as seen here: And then, reopening said window/tab shows this now: Tested it a few times, but it consistently happens now, for me atleast.
I’ll try again in a few hours with both the hotfix applied and safe mode enabled, but with 0.37.0 , and mods disabled the UI was way more laggy for me and I crashed the game by changing the UI size (that new maximum width option). Posting here now incase it’s a known thing. Menu takes a sec to display after hitting escape and just moving thru the main options at top of screen (mods, map, vehicles, etc) and it can hang for several seconds. Between menu pages. With mods enabled it would crash the game but after disabling mods best I got was then spinning circle mouse cursor, and the ‘not responding’ pop up appear but almost immediately disappeared when the game responded. changing the UI res seemed to make it unhappy (in my Timezone it was late at night, can’t remember exactly - will do more methodical tests soon). But changing the UI size could crash the game to desktop. I sent crash reports via the windows crash reporter, I’ll try reproduce tho. Let me know what other info u want
hit the "discard" ui element next to search for a faster way. honestly after the absolute fight that was the old ui i'd take this quirk over it until they fix it a similar glitch happened for maps after i installed then uninstalled a map called Kongsberg Motorsenter. I dont think it is the root cause of the glitch though, especially after seeing you had basically the same glitch
I've discovered a bug with the new vehicle selector. I've downloaded the Hirochi Aero mod, and when expanding its configs, the vehicle selector threw an error (I unfortunately do not have it with me, I was hoping clicking the pop-up would expand it, but instead it disappeared completely), and once the vehicle selection gets refreshed (like adding/removing mods) all tiles vanish.
It seems like there's a conflict between my mouse and controller when I try to select a vehicle with the former (like I'm used to): (recorded in safe mode) I know this is old, but seconded. Once upon a time, the old tuning UI let you finish typing in a value and only tried to apply it once you clicked out of the field.
Indeed, this is a problem that I have long wanted to get rid of, the fact is that when I control the controller interface, the cursor does not disappear, dear developers, make sure that the mouse cursor disappears when using the controller)
Hm, it should disappear after a few seconds not using the mouse. Is it possible your mouse is still registering movement due to tiny table vibrations or alike?
If we're talking about driving a car, then everything works as it should, but if I flip through the list of car selections or when I've just started the car simulator and haven't started the game on the map I've chosen yet, the cursor doesn't want to disappear, even if you start using the controller, but everything works well in other games... I hope I explained it clearly) I just use the translator
And to put it simply, when using a controller or mouse with a keyboard or some other peripherals, the computer must choose one option to control the program or game
Yeh I can’t seem to use the mouse to pre select a vehicle config in the new selector, it just defaults back to the one that would be selected if u are using a controller to navigate. I have to instead use numpad keys to navigate the car config tiles, or double click because that spawns the car before the UI jumps back
Slight issue with the new UI in the vehicle selector menu (and with an controller plugged in and selecting with mouse), when trying to select a specific config (after clicking on the vehicle with compressed configs) it continuously tries to snap back to the display config (the one shown in the miniatures), love you devs
Me too! The vehicle menu works 80% of the time and nearly always throws a lua error about custom paints. And the map menu is sketchy to get too.
Could you please stop updating immature UIs?Since the dial-based UI update, it has become extremely inconvenient. Both online platforms and private player communities have been complaining about it. UI updates should aim for increasing simplicity and user-friendliness. Additionally, if there are plans to continue updating the UI, please provide players with an option to choose between the new interface and the classic legacy version. --- Post updated --- Additionally, I would like to express my appreciation for the recent update that allows sublists in the Vehicle Config-parts section to directly locate currently selected components. This was a feature I suggested 20 days ago, so thank you for implementing it.
Me and other people I've ask have all the same issue (or maybe it's a feature which is very annoying) : the game stops automatically when I press "echap" to go to the vehicle or configurator menu. And the bad thing is that it don't unpause by itself we have to press the J key. It's very annoying when you are using a wheel and don't have necessarily your keyboard next to you. It happen also in safe mode but sometimes it doesn't pause sometimes it does. (It's not an issue with my keybinds either.) That's all
