I turned on steam today and it seems like it downloaded something new, maybe a new hotfix, but closing the menu with esc no longer automatically unpauses the game... I'm having the same issue in Korean
Anyone having an issue where the background seems to have a blur effect in 0.37? If so, what is the fix?
My PC is on Arch linux, the under map problem might have been linked to that, but it's not the case with PBR textures missing, I've got a friend of mine that's had the same problem for a couple versions and he's on the latest windows --- Post updated --- what do you mean by background ? do you mean far distance objects in a map, or the menu images ? --- Post updated --- what do you mean maybe it depends on the linux you're running the game with, I'm on Arch linux, I haven't tested the game yet, I'll do that tomorrow but it might work
There are some Bugs in the Worldeditor lua. The biome tool doesn't work for that reason. The biome tool tries to set bool values with the M.ImGuiStorage_SetInt function which leads to a type error. See my thread which explains the error and a nasty hack to get around it until fixed: https://www.beamng.com/threads/bug-is-the-biome-tool-working-for-you-in-0-37.106517/
does the issue of the menu not unpausing when you close it happen every time? or only with specific steps?
East Coast USA has an incorrect texture for dirt roads, note the colour difference. EDIT: The same texture also appears on Industrial Site.
Hi, I had that too, but after uninstalling the game and performing a clean install it disappeared. It is now pausing when pressing ESC and automatically unpausing when pressing ESC exiting the menu.
I'm a little bit curious why the devs don't use the Beta functionality on Steam when they bring out updates with fundamental changes like 0.37? I don't like being negative in places like this, I think there is too much negativity on the internet as it is, and I genuinely appreciate and understand the effort you guys put in to what is a very complex set of software, but I feel like I need to say my piece after this update. My apologies if it turns out being a bit of an essay. For some context, I'm a development engineer that works mostly on automotive controls systems and one of the things that takes up probably half of my time is software release and vehicle commissioning. We use a process that takes about a month for each release. I will gather all of the new updates with changelogs, quarantine two or three cars, load the files into them and thoroughly test everything. After that I will sign it off, with a full bug list and change requirement document and re-release it back to the component owners who are expected to resolve the issues and repeat the testing processes on my quarantined vehicles for further functionality and compatibility testing. I'll then rerun my initial tests. Only once everything is proven out will we do a full internal release, with a plan to resolve any unresolvable bugs in a future update or patch. In more than a decade of doing this I have never not discovered some fundamental issues that needed to be resolved before release. These cars are prototypes and mules, so could be considered to be in a similar "early access" state to BeamNG right now. Fundamentally, what I do and what the devs do on a day to day basis probably isn't all that different. I have worked at a business that thought they knew better, and would just fling out new software and hope it sticks. It never stuck. It caused chaos, held projects back and demotivated staff. I feel sorry for any modders for this game. They must dread new updates sometimes, because they don't know what might come next. This game relies heavily on the modding community. I imagine release day isn't very fun for the devs either, knowing that anything could happen. The best planning in the world isn't going to catch unforeseen problems. Steam doesn't help either, not having the capability to roll updates back temporarily for regular users. Reading through the comments of players on here and places like YouTube and Steam, the player base also gets upset every time a big release comes out. Most people don't like sudden change, especially if it is out of our control and even more so if it breaks systems that they are familiar with. It feels like they are shooting themselves in the foot a little bit. Releasing a Beta a month in advance would give everyone involved time to straighten things out beforehand, in a more relaxed circumstance. Players would be excited to try the Beta, so it's not as if there would be a shortage of testers and feedback. I'll add a couple of caveats to this; I don't know the devs internal processes for releases, and I don't know how good or bad the Steam Beta functionality is in terms of quick patches for it, so you have to take what I say with a pinch of salt, because there might be more limitations going on in the background that I am not aware of. I just want to reiterate again, that this isn't intended to be negative. I am just curious why there isn't a more structured and managed update release. It would benefit everyone involved. I hope this is taken as constructive and in no way derogatory or detrimental.
Until yesterday it was working normally, but when I launched it today, most of the settings had been reset. Every time I reinstall it, everything except the key bindings gets reset. This is a bug I never experienced with previous versions. Furthermore, when I exit the game, I get a BSOD with high probability. My BeamNG is completely broken.
Hello everybody, Please calm the F... down. Couple of days ago I was going mad with all the errors in game. It got to a point that I couldn't even launch the game. (I apologise for my madness) I uninstalled the game and done a clean install. After that everything got back to normal, apart from the game performance/optimization side of things. Please try to do a clean install, and that way you are not giving the DEVS extra unnecessary work. Peace and much love
vehicle selector menu and radial menu and pressing ESC to close it, the pause does not release... even open and close the main menu with the ESC key, it is still paused It's very cumbersome to have to manually release the pause every time spawn a vehicle.
