Released Project Chimes: Startup and Warning Chimes 2.1.1

This is the forum/discussion post for my mod currently posted on the repository:

It is a few lua scripts that play Ignition Chimes and Warning Chimes in currently all of the default vehicles.
I do encourage suggestions and for people to take my WIP code (the Fuel and TPMS script) to make it better and even add features.
Here is the Template for any modders interested in integrating this script into your own vehicle mods or anyone looking to improve on the features. If you post your changes here in the thread I can update the main mod and give credit for all contributions.

 

Pretty good mod. A few suggestions though:
- The Ford chime doesn't fit the Vivace. Maybe a Gavril would be better for it.
- For the Sunburst, it uses the newer Subaru chime, however the Sunburst is based on the 3rd gen Impreza, so maybe a chime from that would be better (something like this here: )

Other than that, I love it

I'll definitely look into adding that for the sunburst, as it was my original idea to do an older one like this then something made me decide against it.

 

for the bmw check engine sound, if you mean the higher pitched chime that plays in the E60s and F10/F30s when there is a fault then i think this might help, although im not sure if its clear enough. a video that i found on youtube.


also hopefully this honda door chime is the one you're looking for and is clear enough, apologies if these videos are not clear enough.

 

Yes that Honda door chime is exactly what I was looking for. the BMW one I actually do have covered and will be updating soon

also, found a video with the ford seatbelt chime, unfortunately i think it may be a little too soft or unclear but ill send it anyway just incase it is clear enough

 

Good'ay m8 i was wondering if I could share my version of your lua file for the vivace, i replaced the Ford chimes for the PSA (Peugeot-Reault-Citroën) ones, as the Cherrier is french and i happen to own a 2018 5008 GT line, wich has the startup chime.

EDIT : I was also thinking of adding to this mod (not very related but still important) e-brake sound effects ?

 

Feel free to share anything that you changed or added. What do you mean by e-brake sound effects? already integrated is a warning sound when a user applies throttle when the parking brake/emergency brake is engaged

 

Ok so like you will be able to hear the three tone chime is pretty messy audio wise i'm in the process of recording a new one, but i don't have access to me mom's 208 until wednesday. I did mix two peugeot generations : 2017 - 2020 (hope it doesn't bother anyone).
Onto the changes :

- Added the France exclusive Peugeot i-Cockpit startup chime (yes it is that loud irl)
- Changed the Ford chime for the Stellantis / PSA one and the "Urgence" alert for the e-brake.
- Added auto-release on the e-brake aswell as e-brake motor sounds (can remove them if you don't like em'), wich applies the e-brake as soon as the car is turned off, and releases with throttle. (edit : it doesn't let you release the e-brake if a door is open)

When the ignition is on accessories only, the doorChime will play when lights on with the doors open. If the engine is on or ignition set to on, opening all the doors (except the driver one) triggers the chime. Also, if the driver door is open and the handbrake off, it will trigger the "Urgence" alert.
Here is my vivace folder :
The zip is for art and the luas' are for lua.

I can remove these files if you want to.

 

Truthfully, if you give me permission, then I am willing to use these sounds for the vivace in a new update for the mod

The ETK 800 and K Series use the new modern BMW chime (Late 2010s-Present) for ignition, but the door chime is the old modern one (Like the new Supra uses). Also, some chimes are quieter than others (Like the chime used in the Ibishu Hopper or the Hirochi Sunburst)

 

a very good mod that adds realism to the game, but could you add this feature to some lore modifications like etk 900?

 

How can you deactivate the chime?

 

I do have the intention to eventually start adding modded lore friendly vehicles from the repo. This may take some time to get to a majority of them but it will happen

Unfortunately the only way currently is to disable the mod in your mod manager. Im working on a way to toggle it in the future

 

Hello, I made some sound changes.

1. Hirochi sbr 4 replaced ignition and warning chime with Audi r8, because why not
   
2. ETK K series replaced warning chime with a more current sound from bmw g-series
3. Civetta scintilla replaced with Ferrari Roma
4. Cherrier vivace replaced ignition and warning chime with windows 11 again, why not (I did this before updating the mod)
5. Ibishu bx - series added ETC, speed chime sound, separated the sounds for the left and right doors, using sounds from the American version of the Nissan 300zx. There are also sounds from the Japanese version, since I wanted to make a division by market, but I have not been able to implement this yet.

 

to me the SBR4 is more like a Subaru BRZ/Porsche Boxster car, but if this mod had support for modded cars, then it would be good on the Hirochi Sunstorm (audi r8 based)

 

I'll keep that noted for when i work on the modded vehicles

Certainly very interesting some of those like the windows 11 sound.
If you're good with it, i may use the new BMW sounds and the scintilla sounds you provided in an update, of course credit will be given for sourcing these

 

Of course, no problem. What do you think about the sounds on bx-series?
