it is interesting to see they appear to be making a shift from remasters and adding a chunk each update like the the i series and miramer
They used to do that much more frequently before the remasters started in 2019. The D-Series received its extended cab in 0.5 (December 2015) and its crew cab in 0.9 (April 2017). The Hopper also got a bunch of updates post-0.9, adding more content to it. The '88 Pessima got a fair few parts for it in 0.5.1 (the update after its release, 0.5), and the Covet got a new bodykit in 0.5.3. These are only a few examples - there are plenty of others to choose from.
Just noticed something, in the new radial menu the "Random Vehicle" generator seems suspiciously like a used car generator, with random paint, and from what I can tell, occasionally random wheels. Could be an experiment for career mode.
Not sure if it could be implemented but to my knowledge there is code for vehicle wear like paint and rod knock so just some interesting things that could maybe be done in the customization
Forwarding from Reddit u/Randomguy8566732 (Suggestion) If the paint system ever gets remastered then Paint, Patina and Dirt should be on separate layers Sometimes you want to combine a paint scheme (e.g. two-tone or decals) with old paint or grime, but under the current system you can't do that. If paint, patina and dirt were on separate layers, then you could make whatever combination you wanted without having to muck around with custom textures.
I feel it could be cool if they did something like what Wreckfest does, where you can have a livery and a paintjob separate of each other.
Beam-stradamus quatrains, predictions.. "And on the horizon I saw a sky like no other... One with great majestic clouds.. " The backend has been updated quietly. . . . Dont tell anyone Improved water/lighting back-end in 0.37.x – they quietly reworked reflection probes and sun scattering, which usually happens before adding volumetric clouds or fog. (They need that groundwork first.) But remember and do take this with a few lbs of salt. This it speculation. I have no grand insight into anything.
It is not surprise ChatGPT knows everyth Perfectly understandable. Everyone should doubt everything with some salt until anything official is said of course. Some things aren’t in the changelog, my friend — they’re buried in the render pipeline. Reflection probes got rewritten quietly around 0.37, and the ambient scatter math isn’t the same old Torque3D fog anymore. The backend’s waking up — just not loud about it. When the sunsets start painting themselves and the clouds finally cast their own light, remember this post. Until then… I’ll deny everything if the PostFX police show up at my door. ️ --- Post updated --- Here is a little more.... ☀️ 1. Reflection & Lighting Refactor They migrated several older “cube map” reflection systems to a probe-based reflection setup (dynamic + static). That’s a key foundational step before implementing things like: Dynamic skylight color sampling from the actual sky texture. Real specular sky reflections on cars and windows. More consistent tone response between time-of-day cycles. That’s basically the renderer learning to see the sky, not just fake it. ️ 2. Sun/Atmospheric Scattering Hooks Even if you don’t see volumetric clouds yet, the SunSky system already has parameters like: scatteringColor sunScale skyBrightness ambientScale …and they started wiring these into the render pipeline in newer builds. They’re placeholders for Rayleigh/Mie scattering — meaning BeamNG is halfway there to actual atmospheric light diffusion (the “sky color based on sun angle” effect you see in modern engines). ☁️ 3. Environmental Probe Sync Maps now have cleaner probe update loops — meaning the light bounces and global illumination get more stable between frames. They’re not calling it GI, but it’s inching toward that territory. Basically, they’re laying the pipes for when they flip the switch on: “Dynamic weather system with volumetric clouds and accurate skylight scattering.”
I would love to see an Australian map. I've been wanting it for years, hopefully one day we get one. Now that I don't need to rattle on about a ute I think I will rattle on about this instead lol.
Lore friendly AU falcon when? BUT for real. I agree would be ideal, A city then a out back the the same map, AND maybe a aussie car. With ute panel van. sedan and wagon
