I appreciate the effort, but to me, these look rough around the edges, along w/ having some parts clipping. Mind you I don't want to sound condescending since I don't know anything about 3D models.
So, gonna add a little fuel to the fire here. The use of paid software as an arguement to make the mod paid is mind blowingly stupid. Does it mean I can go buy a 20 dollar plan for Photoshop to make the ugliest skin possible in under 5 minutes and then sell it even just for a dollar? Man, it doesnt work like that. But still, even though I dont have the product on my hands and cant judge he quality, on pics the mod looks nice. Other than that, author still has full right to make this mod paid and I cant really argue with that.
Substance painter or not, this mod would've have been paid either way. that's actually the reason I even brought it back to life. sure maybe that was a dumb excuse, but I am putting my all into this
Well, continue working, man. If you work hard on this mod, you can turn it into some very nice high quality project! (Or maybe it already is, still, cant judge) So, just remember that community here is pretty sensitive when it comes to paid mods, especially to paid parts. Dont give up and look at the good side of it, good luck, man!
Thank you man, really appreciate the kind words. and yeah, I had a feeling these things would happen so it doesn't bother me at all
3 dollars for a few steering wheels, meanwhile theres complete car mods in the 3-5 dollar price range. Knowing that, the criticism is fully valid. While it does look good, I won’t be getting this until/unless it either becomes free or the price is lowered significantly (>$1). “Professional” my ass. There are several free alternatives to substance painter (see article below). Not our problem that the mod author failed to do a few minutes of research before making an unnecessary purchase. That’s just about as unprofessional as it gets. Free alternatives to substance painter: https://alternativeto.net/software/substance-painter/?license=free
Just did a deep cache clean, but the FCV / Vivace wheels still appear to be broken. Additionally, you might want to reconsider the positioning a bit, as it blocks the dashboard, but I appreciate there's not much room to work with. Personally, I jumped on this mod because steering wheels really tickle my interest. I feel that the price is just bordering on acceptable (and I'm intentionally not comparing it to the insane value of other mods e.g, LucasBE vehicles). Despite that, I think each wheel is about 2-3 remodels away from instilling real value in the price. I'd also love to see variants with worn texturing. Nevertheless, thanks for the mod and hope to see it improve in the future!
you're using the old, outdated, free version of the mod which I abandoned a year ago. the new version with brand new materials and wheels is available on Kofi and Gumroad
Thanks, turns out I had the old mod installed. I removed it and did a deep cache clean, and triple checked I only have one version of the mod installed, but the FCV wheel still looks like this:
v0.8.5 purchased from Ko-Fi. I believe it came out before BeamNG 0.37, so should work fine with 0.36? I usually stay 1 game patch behind as I have quite a lot of mods. Also, I did scour the beamng.log incase it may shade light on the issue, but found no relevant info...
there was a bug where all of the textures where just completely white, which I did fix and reuploaded the file on the 18th of September, if you downloaded it before the 19th then I suggest downloading it again, and yes it should work fine in 0.36 even tho it came out the same day as 0.37, but it should work
there is absolutely nothing in the file that would contain any malware at all, Dae files, DDS files, Jbeam and Json files. it's up to you whether you trust me or not but I don't do refunds.
