    The game has multiplayer? and purchasing the Alpha and not buy the game proved necessary future upgrades?

    There is no multiplayer yet, but it is planned. Alpha purchase grants you all future BeamNG DRIVE updates for free.

    how will the updates work do we need to download the patches from the drive forum or that beamng drive has an auto updater

    It has an updater .exe so no need to be worried.

    If you right click on the shortcut and click "open file location," you'll see a file called "update."
    If you don't have a shortcut, it'll be in the folder where you installed DRIVE.

    It's all good, I didn't even know it came with an updater until I looked in the install directory lol.
