I hope so because that would be sick though A mechanical diesel still would be realistic for this truck's apparent weight class, they're almost definitely sticking with it
I feel as if maybe lots of devs online could of been the creator branch dropped, SO i will play beam one last time today, Then have a session of gta 4 or mafia 1 or 2? Hype train maybe now
I noticed some people talking about what brand the heavy equipment will be, but something I realized, Volvo makes heavy equipment and this might be a good opportunity to introduce a Scandinavian brand to the game. I remember there was an old Swedish brand Jargl that was never used, not sure if they’ll use it now or go with a different name. A Volvo inspired brand could have a very diverse product range, from heavy equipment to passenger cars and SUVs, euro trucks and buses and even VN-series inspired euro brand, US-spec conventional trucks.
While that would be neat, I reckon the haul truck and loader are going to be US-built. It would make the most sense for a game that primarily takes place in the US. However, the Wydra is built in Poland (even though its 8x8 version is quite similar to the US-built Mudd-Ox and Canadian-built Argo), so I could see these two large vehicles being used to introduce a new nation to the roster. Also, I just realized that BeamNG.drive is becoming a semi-sequel to Need For Madness, with some of the recent vehicle additions (like the Charro/Kentarch (which are similar to the Wow Caninaro) and MD-Series (which is quite close to the EL KING)). I highly doubt it's intentional, since Need For Madness is a very niche game, but it is a funny coincidence. There's a vehicle in that game called the M A S H E E N, which is similar to the Caterpillar 966 front-end loader and is infamous for being very deadly and nigh-indestructible. The Beam wheel loader ought to be a riot to destroy cars with - especially if it gets a ram plow. I wonder if the wheel loader will use conventional steering, or if it will use articulated steering (like several wheel loaders do). The Wydra introduced a new style of steering to the game, so it would make sense for the wheel loader to introduce another.
The update is coming out next week at the latest and you can’t tell me nothing. They gotta build hype before the winter sale and give themselves enough time to roll out hotfixes before they give the team time off for the holidays. .37 had 6 hot fixes total, just sayin
I have a feeling it's going to be a situation similar to the school bus for the name --- Post updated --- When it comes to the copycat kind of sequel kind of stuff to other people's games I feel deep down like it's going to lose itself if it does that too much. BeamNG drive has a special kind of energy to it you know. It's unique and if it becomes a copycat of something else it'll be too easy for someone else to come along and rip everyone off and all their hard work on here --- Post updated --- Is going to stay true to itself I hope
I don't think BeamNG is copying those games in particular. From what I've seen, those are obscure browser vehicular combat games. You could also say BeamNG is also copying Carmageddon because iirc one of the game in that series has a drivable haul truck and a loader, when I'm 100% sure its a coincidence lol. tldr: I don't think BeamNG is copying anything and its a coincidence that some vehicles line up with other games.
When it comes to the copycat kind of sequel kind of stuff to other people's games I feel deep down like it's going to lose itself if it does that too much. Be ment Thats a relief
I don't know how anyone could think Beam is copying anyone. They're pioneers, the originators of soft-body physics in a driving game. If anything, the number of developers taking inspiration from or blatantly ripping off Beam is significant.
