Not a mint fan really, mostly because of its ubuntu ties. Its still somewhat bloated and lethargic, but at least its GUI is usable and the default software is far better out of the box.

so, here's how i see it

ubuntu = worst os ever made period, slow, unoptimised, shit UI

Windows 95 = well, personally i never had a problem with W95 myself

Windows ME = invented the BSOD per min's standard, ME got 5461941415604569498 BSOD's per min (obviously huge exaggeration, but ME bsod's a lot)

Vista = good concept, bad optimisation (although i ran it just fine on a laptop with 2GB of DDR2 ram, a pentium t-series (too lazy to look up exact model, if one of you guys wants to said laptop is a compaq presario A916NR) and what igpu it had)

OSX = good for people who have money to just throw around

    Ubuntu reminds me of this:

    (imported from here)

"Yeah it's worse in almost every way but it's OURS so it's BETTER"

Work it out... As it is at the cutting edge of laptops at this current time, yes. But not as well as a desktop, but yes.

CPU is similar in performance to an i5-4590.
GPU is similar to a GTX 960.

I have no idea why you want to pay $2500 for $800 worth of desktop performance, but to answer your question, yes, it will run BeamNG. For about an hour on battery.

Ubuntu core is modified significantly from Debian core to the point Debian packages cannot be installed on Ubuntu.

Most of the alternate desktop environment versions have all the other software packages kept the same. Most are being discontinued.

If I have to use Linux for some reason, I use debian. But I can do all I need on windows anyway.

    Because gaming laptop.
IMO they suck. A good laptop is a reliable laptop, gaming laptops have terrible battery life and are anything but reliable (looking at you alienware)

I basically dont use Linux these days, i have two computers and Windows is the better choice for both of them in my opinion. But i did quite like zorin OS, it was super easy to use and looked fairly nice too.

Precision workstation FTW. Good performance, decent battery life, very good reliability, etc. My old M4400 is fully decked out with dual SSDs and even with it's worn old battery I can acheive 4 hours max and then play Portal 2 at 1200p 60FPS.

    *Ahem*

NeXT. Steve Job's other bastard child. (If you don't know, it's the failed OS he created when Mac kicked him out.)

I tried a Razer blackwidow. It feels like cheap rubbish compared to my model M. At least it has clicky keys, but they are way too light.
