    More like a 200SX actually (Nissan S12). 240SX is a little newer (1993 or whatever). The 200BX would've been from 1989 to 1995. Plus it's a 2 liter, so the name makes sense :p

I suppose you must mean the S14 240SX. the S12 is a tad older than the 200BX (they came out in 84, then replaced in 88 and 89 in Japan for coupe and hatch respectively). The 200BX timeline is much the same as the 240SX (S13), which I believe came to America in 1989 (or perhaps 1990).

Oh and 14x7 PF1's sound excellent for the Prelude, they look much better than larger diameter variants (especially on an older car). Any preference on colour?

    Style comes at a price;)

I saw this the other day >.>
Parks on a car park where truckers transit from their car to a truck to make deliveries, so it stands there pretty much every day.
    Must be a cool trucker.

Gotta go with black. Unfortunately they don't make 14x7 +28 offset RPF1s in black, only silver, so I've gotta strip and repaint the wheels when they come on Friday.

Nice, 88-89 pre-facelift. Does it have 4WS? I have the facelifted 90-91 model (different taillights and front bumper). Such an awesome, underrated car. The handling and steering are absolutely amazing.

Looks like he's got a rear wiper  and the peasant 2.0Si trim :p I've got the proper "Si" with the 2.1 liter that puts out a whopping 5 more horsepower ;)

Dunno, i just had a quick walk around it to not get too much attention. There is lots of eyes around there. Is there any way to know if it has 4WS from the outside, badge or something?
From what i recall about the interior, it was pretty much stock with wear on douchebag steering 12o'clock steering position
The minor rust from the outside and a badly attached exhaust say it might have a lot of miles. You don't get wear on your steering wheel anyhow quick.

Yes, 4WS cars have badging everywhere. Also, if the car's wheels are fully turned, you'll notice the rear wheels are turned as well. Probably doesn't have 4WS then.

it's not as much a cvt as it is a planetary gear set though.
although you could argue that the planetary gear set gives off the same effect that the cvt does.

In the prius one you can see where a second set of planets + sun can fit in the other side of the ring gear. If I recall correctly, the Atkinson engine inputs to the sun on one side, the planet carrier is locked against the transmission case which then causes the ring gear to rotate, the spinning of the ring gear then drives the output sun via the 2nd locked planet carrier. The electric motor can also input on the outside of the ring.
The motor can add torque at low rpm and in doing so effectively alters the gear ratio for the engine too. Its rather funky. But it is not truly a CVT due to relying on 2 independent inputs. A CVT only has the 1 input and then has other crap altering the gear ratio.

My Enkei RPF1s came today. After an hour of measuring I'm pretty sure they'll clear my brake calipers (just barely). Can't mount them 'til Monday. My 4 wheels weigh less than my 2 cats :D

I like you more and more

The wheels are sweet, but i don't think they will fit onto a late 80's prelude too well in terms of styling.
On a 240SX, nice, a late Silvia, nice, but i don't think the honda has that sort of image, it is not a hardcore Japan parking garage hardcore tuner. It doesn't want to go sideways around corners- that is what cars with these wheels tend to do.
I think some more subtle and less agressive simple rims would fit it better.

    (imported from here)

But since you alredy made the purchase, there is not really any point in me giving these 5 cents. The Enkei's are nice after all.

I think they suit the car very well, RPF1's are not really what I would consider "hardcore drift wheels" largely helped by the lack of fluro green. In a sensible 14x7 size, they will look excellent on a Prelude, complimenting it sportiness;)

They're the lightest wheels you can get, and the only alloys that come in 14x7. Don't care too much about the styling, except getting them powder coated black. I'm knocking 40 lbs of unsprung weight off my car. Better handling, better ride comfort, and faster acceleration. I'm not making a rice rocket or a drifter or a show car; I'm making my Prelude into a nicer car for me and the crappy roads I have to drive on.

This wasn't today, but a few days ago. I adjusted my valves, they were really out of spec and chattered a lot and now they are much quieter and it runs so much better.

    BOOM

    newwheelscropped.jpg

Needs a little low. Ride comfort is already significantly better and it feels faster too :D

As for black: powder coating place quoted me at $1000. No thanks. Silver's growing on me anyways.
