Maybe reinstall windows? Something is wrong if chrome is getting tons of popups. I can see it using RAM or CPU time, but it's the best at blocking popups.
Sure you don't have a virus doing that?

You probably have adware. I'd try to remove that first, and go ahead and download Firefox. Chrome is a bit of a memory hog.

Norton says everything is A-ok so I dunno, Chrome can fuck off anyways. IE goes faster than it for me anyways. (& I confirmed that before all of that popup shit started). Also thanks, the HTML5 viewer fixed it :)

Try re installing it. I personally use Pale Moon, which is based on Firefox. But you should definitely try to get the adware cleared up. I haven't had the best experiences with Norton in the past, so I would use an alternative.

Try a scan with malwarebytes, see if it gets something.

I'm setting an alarm so I don't sleep so late tomorrow that there isn't enough time in the afternoon to eat.

1.5 meals a day master race. Lost 26 pounds this fall-winter from it. Lost more weight when I was off-season from work because I didn't get Burger King Chicken Fingers every night.

I guess I'm not a great engineer. To much weight on one corner so I patched it with random pieces of wood.

Today I didn't roll out of bed until three, and all I've had is fried eggs and some bacon. I'm hungry and thirsty.
I'm trying to gain weight not lose it lol
I set my alarm for 10am. Wouldn't be surprised if I break this clock tomorrow when it goes off.

I did tests ages ago and logged them here. Found chrome used the most ram for just 1 tab, but as you added more and more tabs firefoxes memory usage increased more rapidly than chromes. By 3 tabs they were equal, by 4 Firefox used more than chrome.
Plus Firefox is still single threaded, both chrome and internet explorer are multithreaded.

Norton is utter crap. Your computer could genuinely be infected by a huge pile of viruses and Norton would never know, it would carry on key logging everything back to the NSA though. Microsoft security essentials does a better job while being free. Malwarebytes offers the best protection but isn't realtime, you have to manually launch a full scan every now and then, does mean you can use it in conjunction with avg/avast/Norton/MSE etc.

Chrome should have exact same ads as all other browsers. If it doesn't. You definitely have some sort of malware going on, a 3rd party chrome extension maybe?

Flash for YouTube was discontinued. IE11 automatically made the switch to HTML5 for me. IE9 doesn't work with it at all (woo). I don't have IE10.
