Discussion for my first mods, I'm pretty open to suggestions and ideas. Already have some things in the works. First release for the prop expansion pack makes the Steel Coil hollow. Trailer expansion pack adds a 4 Axle Bogie to the Flatbed Trailer. Beta - TA Trailer Expansion | BeamNG Beta - TA Prop Expansion Pack - Hollow Coil | BeamNG Update and Hotfix ready for Trailer Expansion: Fixed Quad Bogie 4th axle not having Aluminum wheel option. This update also adds the new bogie to the 48/53ft DryVan Trailer; Also fixed new configurations spawning with 0 airbag pressure. Thinking of changing the white wheels for the new Flatbed configurations and thumbnails to one of the other two options. White is less appealing to me for some reason (oversight). Done 34ft Cargo Trailer 34ft widebody Cargo Trailer Interior lights for widebody Cargo Trailer 4 Axle Bogie for Flatbed Trailer 4 Axle Bogie for DryVan Trailer Heavy Duty 2 Axle for 22ft Tiltdeck 3 Axle single wheel for 30ft Tiltdeck 3 Axle Dually for 30ft Tiltdeck New 4 Axle heavy duty dually for 40ft Tiltdeck 3 Axle Dolly Lowered Tridem Axle Bogie with Hendrickson suspension (Unreleased) Low profile tires (Unreleased) New Flatbed Variation (57ft Flatbed) (Unreleased) WIP New Drop Deck Flatbed (57ft and 60 ft extended gooseneck) (ON HOLD) Tandem Axle for 25ft Tanker Trailer Planned 60ft DryVan inspired by the Walmart 60ft trailers in Canada Shorter Drop Deck Flatbed variations Reefer unit addon part for DryVan Ultra low profile Flatbed Drop Deck Walking beam suspension option for flatbeds Dump Truck Semi Upfit as standalone trailer Thoughts: Pretty close to done with the Drop Deck 67ft variant, Just having some issues with textures now, Ideally, I want to use vanilla textures. I'm still learning. Current issue is sometimes the textures break for the trailers but disabling and reenabling the mod fixes them for some reason? Not sure. I had hoped that the new lowered bogie and low-profile tires would drop the deck more than it has, I suppose there is still quite a bit of spacing between the top of the tires and bottom of the deck though. I still think it helps a bit with stability. Issues: Textures is one as mentioned. But also I'm having an issue limiting suspension travel. Doing so would help me feel more comfortable reducing the space between the tires and bed on my new Hendrickson Suspension Bogie, but I just can't seem to get bump stops working using BOUNDED beams. Anyways, always open to tips and suggestions --- Post updated --- Ok... How do I actually add images to post itself? Imgur and insert image are not working. I'll just upload them for now. Edit.. Oh I see, derp sorry it's been a while
hey, quick question, can you update the expansion so its for car trailers? (not the ones that you put cars on, but the ones that are supposed to be towed by a car) so can you add trailers like 1950s, trailer custom built by ibishu for pigeon, 1930s (for bruckell nine) 1990s, etc? --- Post updated --- also i forgot smth, what abt some westfalia style trailers for the piccolina that can be modified and can have dif bed attachments (basiclly like the other trailers i mentioned,) and a small wooden trailer that can also be modified and has 2 variants: regular, and weathered,
I should clarify that my intention for the Trailer Expansion Pack currently is strictly for modifications and additional variants of the Vanilla trailers (in essence using vanilla BeamNG trailers for the basis of my modifications). I could incorporate the small Vanilla trailers into the expansion but it sounds like you're suggesting completely new trailers. I do have plans make my own trailers but as of now that isn't in the scope of this mod. If you have suggestions for modifications you'd like to see to the vanilla car trailers I'm happy to hear them. A trailer for the pigeon seems sensible as I can essentially scale down vanilla trailers.
Love this! Few ideas as well, such as 3 and 4 axle tanker trailers, and some different bumpers, side boxes, and fenders as well?
Yee~ Another trailer expansion mod. :3 I hope that there will be more cargo options on the Flatbed Trailers, Like 30T Steel Coil x4 on 53ft and Longer variant. BTW will you plan that make a dump trailer with frame? I think it's pretty cool. 3 *Some pics from my little ideas* XD
Honestly genius, definitely going to explore the semi dump body on a standalone trailer. Exploring additional cargo options. 4 coils on the standard flatbed might be a bit much. However, I do like the idea of a dedicated steel coil trailer. I love the steel coil hence my other mod lol. Such loads aren't unheard of though, there are custom 100 ton coil trailers that are only used for transporting coils around steel manufacturing facilities. I also like this for behemoth coils. And finally lift axles for the flatbed Some of these ideas, certainly the dedicated coil trailers will be reserved for my very own trailers mod. I would like to introduce other types of specialty trailers such as dry bulk and glass trailers. Other liquid tank trailer styles, pneumatic tank trailer, lowboy, logging trailers with grapple crane etc. Once I have more experience and feel comfortable tackling. All of which is preparation to create the mods I really want to.
Thanks, everyone has been nice and it's encouraging (though I would have appreciated 5 stars lol). I lost a couple days' worth of work batch renaming things in VS Code and not properly inputting the correct values or having proper backups. I learned my lesson, but I hope to have the 57ft standard trailer and at least the 57ft Drop Deck ready sometime this weekend. Quality and no bugs is a biggie for me.
There's one more thing I wanna talk about the Drop Deck Trailer. Will it have Deck Widener options that is use for carrying Hirochi HT-55 / WL-40 ? :3
No, it's a drop deck trailer not a lowboy or oversize load trailer. The height of the trailer, high center of gravity of those loads, and suspension setup are not suitable. I recommend the folding gooseneck lowboy by Fun Physics for such a case. This is by no means a replacement for that.
I feel foolish asking, but as it's my 2nd day on the forums, how do I rate things? I'll happily rate it 5 stars, it deserves it.
well, maybe make a trailer that can be colored for the pigeon, and some smaller variants of the trailers like the enclosed cargo trailer and box utility trailer, and yes, theyd be really smol to fit cars not designed for towing (though theyd be as wide as the car) --- Post updated --- btw for the 1950s and 30s trailer, why not model some stuff for the 50s trailer to give it a 50's design, the modifications for the 50s trailer would be this, you would get a very small box utility trailer, remove the sidepanels, add some 1950s modeling to it and make variants, but for the 1930s one, well, prob add some wooden railing from the bruckell nine pickup and put it on the "Very smol box utility trailer" and add some 1930s styling to it
"Rate this resource" above the review section of the download page" Thanks! All great suggestions however just not within the current scope of things. I could see myself tending to this in the future but right now I'm just not doing very much original modelling, the modeling I am doing is modification to existing geometry with the upside of being able to use vanilla materials and UV's. I'm not comfortable with the amount of XP that I have currently to be able to put out something of the quality that I require of myself. Once I'm more familiar with texturing and blender I could definitely approach this. Good suggestion, awesome! Can now comfortably haul 5 toys. Ok serious discussion, I need some input. Trying to get all the loads to work correctly on the extended trailers has been seriously painful, in particular the marble block and steel coils (the ones everyone cares about lol). I've run into so many problems and have spent the last few days just tuning load jbeams (it's getting really boring), but the behaviors just seem insanely arbitrary and I'm not having much luck figuring out the causes of the weird anomalies. Including but not limited to: Jittery nodes, ghost forces on the coils and blocks, mesh vibrations, marble block added to "Rear Load" not colliding with the middle marble load. I've also found a bug I believe where the load rack for the rear load coil has duplicate node names of the middle load marble black load rack causing interconnected beams between the two, I'm pretty sure this is unwanted behavior although it doesn't affect the vanilla trailers. Should I halt the release until I can solve these issues (hopefully I can), or drop the trailers with limited load options?
Tripleaye, then just make "small (er)" box utility trailers that are just a smaller box utility trailer with 1 axle and a shorter trailer tounge, and a small enclosed trailer tht is the enclosed trailer but same length and width as the smaller box utility trailer, and for the pigeon trailer, can you make it colorable and modifyable like the pigeon? (like, bed box, wheel mods, etc, ?
Suggestions: Tri axle dryvan, and tandem and quad axle 40ft and 53ft container trailer. Thanks for the trailer and prop mod.
