I wonder if we'll get volumetric fog for West Coast USA; the last game I saw portray San Francisco fog well was Watch Dogs 2. Horizon: Forbidden West also may have done this, but I haven't played it.
The moment the devs posted a "we haven't forgot but it's going to take a while" video, there have been non-stop comments saying it's coming each update. Usually, it's engagement bait fueled by excitement. But still frustrating to see it pitched at every available chance.
I wonder if the new clouds also means we get better fog? The fog looks weird right now, the horizon line is way too visible
I understand that clouds and shadows from clouds are not synchronized in any way? and the shadows of the objects are still dancing
Maybe I need to get off my phone and actually boot up Beam and do a side by side but does the horizon/skybox in general look a little different or is it just me? I also run the dynamic skybox mod so much, maybe I’m just not remembering
I also use the dynamic skybox mod sometimes, but the horizon looks weird to me, especially around the distant islands in Italy
The skybox mod nukes the horizon line, whereas vanilla has a more pleasant one. But I’m looking at the teaser and comparing it to other videos and it just looks like a more pleasant gradient leading to the horizon? And I don’t know if that’s due to the particular environment settings (time/fog) or it’s an improved skybox to go with the clouds. compare with this video and someone tell me if I’m crazy
