Good to know, though I would already own one if they hadn't pulled off the 3.5/4 GB and the L2 cache thing. I don't want to encourage this kind of behaviour with my dollars.

Oh and it's a evga 80+ either gold or silver

The EVGA G2 series is one of the best PSUs on the market. Pretty much any single GPU with a reasonable CPU will fit in it. A 960 is great for 1080p though.

I wouldn't miss out on a 970 just for that. They obviously didn't do it on purpose, such a thing would have been incredibly stupid.

I made a nice editing rig. Would fit it in a custom case though, since there's not a single good case that fits an SSI CEB board.

Yay. Gone from first ever windows bluescreen to first windows PC to fail to boot in a matter of days. Same machine. Boots Linux fine, backup and reinstall time.

In just 1 hour of usage I have fully established/reinforced that firefox is an utter pile of wank.

if you don't already upgrade to 64-bit chrome

it has MUCH better resource management (especially ram) over the 32-bit version

Firefox is the one with RAM issues. 32 bit Chrome has them as well, 64 bit doesn't. However, chrome kills single-core CPUs, so it's a no go for old PCs.
I've been using Firefox for a while now, but it got crap after update 30. I'll switch back to Chrome I guess.

Use an alternate firefox. Palemoon I think is a good one.

Anyone know of some good, cheap 120/140mm fans I can buy? I'm looking for between 2 and 4 and under $10 for all.

Ice weasel in this case. Think it's plain Firefox with trademarks removed.

Chrome ftw. Firefox is still single threaded with terrible hardware acceleration. Chrome and intended explorer are both hardware accelerated and multithreaded while using less ram. Last night I came away from Firefox with such a sour taste that I now rank it behind internet explorer.

    My laptop is completely fucked.

Doesn't post. Making a horrid sound (grating noise of some sort). Really hot. Fan won't come on. Think its dead, so its not a windows install gone bad. Its laptop gone bad.

A 250 won't do much. For a gaming card, the 260X is the lowest you can go.

    64-bit.
I wish Chrome would run properly on single core CPUs. It's unusable in old PCs.

1GB of VRAM can fall short for games with medium to large textures in 1080p. I'd recommend you get a 2GB card.
An FX-4300 will be fine for most games, but don't expect it to run BeamNG very well.

The 6300 is the same thing with more cores, won't help with single threaded performance. You want a good framerate in BeamNG, go Intel.
