As I play through BeamNG I sometimes have ideas, so I've compiled the top 5 of them so that the dev team can think about them. Keep in mind they're only suggestions :)

    1. Steering wheel turning angle

When I use my G27 wheel I love that the virtual steering wheel's rotation nearly matches mine, but when I'm using the keyboard or mouse it becomes really hard to controll my steering because I don't know how much I'm steering, I just see the wheel rotating about really fast. My suggestion is that there would be a "keyboard" mode and a "steering wheel" mode on the options, so that in "steering wheel" mode we get the current rotation but in "keyboard" mode we only get like 100 or 110 degrees of rotation to each side, to know how much we're turning.

    2. Flip up!

Ever been in that situation when you wanna see if your car makes it through in one piece but you accidentally flip it and have to start all over? I would love it if there was a Flip button that would put the car back on it's feet at exactly the same position as it sits and without repairing it... Those who have played Rigs of Rods in the old days surely remember how the mouse drag was helpful in those situations ;)

    3. Simple 2 player solution?

This is just an idea I've had, bare with me. We know BeamNG Drive is capable of a lot, you can spawn multiple vehicles at the same time and simulate their physics, and you can even set AIs to chase you or fly away from you. What if we could set 4 keys to 4 basic functions (accelerate, brake, steer left & right) and we could have a mate playing with us at our house? It would be GTA SA style, so cool. If you wanted you could go a bit more extreme and add a split screen, so that it would load a vehicle's camera on one side and another vehicle's camera on the other.

    4. input maps

I'm sure you already have this one planned... it's just that the current input maps are so annoying to set up, it would be lovelly if we could set our controllers like the normal games where you just assign keys in a menu :p

    5. 2 New AI modes

    - Follow line: would it be possible for the AI to follow our line? That way when we want them to keep distance, they don't get dumb and crash into the objects between us and them :p

    - Towing: I had this idea where if you activated "Towing" on the AI selection menu it would put a rope between you and the AI's car, so that you could tow them anywhere and the ONLY thing they have to do is steer. Would be awesome to get a D15 off-road to tow a ibishu covet around mountains :D

    1. Confirmed, input smoothing is coming with the input code revamp
    2. Dunno, for now just do zero gravity and rev and brake for a while. The car will spin up eventually and then do Pluto gravity to bring it down.
    3. Dunno, but I can imagine other things are a bigger priority
    4. Confirmed, ingame mapping inputs will eventually be a thing
    5. Dunno, but I want this the most. The more AI modes the better. Also pathfinding.

Every single thing you pointed out was already suggested many times.
Please use the search bar before you decide to make a new thread.

Hey come on, it's in the right subforum, and it makes some good (AND ORIGINAL) points. The people on the forum need to be less harsh.

Less harsh... I just said that there is no point in asking the same question over and over by different people if it was already answered before. You can just use the search bar to check if any of those things are planned.

True, nothing I suggested is of major priority, just ideas to think about once the game core is done :)

Not every single thing I suggested has been posted here before. I did use the search button and found 1 or 2 repeated things but I saw no harm in emphasising them. Like the in game input making. This is the right sub-forum for these kinds of things and I don't think it's ever wrong to remind the developers of good ideas :)

Correct, but there exists a reason for the suggestion subforum - to suggest original ideas not present in the game. The OP made a clean, respectful list of things that would improve the final quality of the game. Of course SOME have been suggested before, this is HIS personal list of what he feels is important. It adheres to the rules, as well as being timely and having original ideas.

When was the last time you saw a suggestion for additional AI modes? Not that I can remember.

This originality, THIS is what separates a good thread from a "gibe multiplaer plz" thread.

I don't think you read my reply properly, I said I saw the input mapping suggestion when I searched before I posted but saw no harm in emphasising it ;)

Partly my fault, I wrote empathizing instead of emphasising. My bad :)

    EDIT: corrected it

    So back on topic:
    1,2,4 are confirmed
3 - should be a possible addition in the future
5 - there is already a mode called Keep distance, AI will try to keep distance from you of around 10 meters but it won't exactly follow your path so there is a high chance of it hitting objects.

If this thread was a vehicle it would be a Dodge Citadel.

But those cars are nice... this thread is not nice...

Anyway... I like your ideas.. especially the last one... about the follow the leader and path or whatever. maybe even like a speed limiter for the AI... like if you wanted to drive through the countryside with a couple AI you could set their speed at like I don't know 15mph and have them just take a nice drive...

it would also be absolutely be amazing if multiple commands could be carried out at the same time. You could turn on a speed limiter and the follow idea thing. ;)

True, that's why I mentioned that it would be fun to have a "follow line" mode, that way it would follow your line while keeping distance, so it won't hit stuff ;)

    I'm sorry, what? xD

I think the limit wouldn't be needed, if the AI followed your line while keeping distance, which was my original idea, it wouldn't need a speed limiter as it would be keeping the same speed as you :)
