Mine was only overclockable by bus or whatever so no multiplier control which is probably why I only got 4GHz. I used to run it at a 3.6GHz clock just fine but then it became really unstable. It's happy at the stock 3.2.
FSB is locked on mine, it's a 2 GHz 130nm (Northwood I think) '02 model. Massive OC must be fun. One guy got an FX-8320 to almost 8 GHz. Edit: Oh wait, actually over 8 GHz. http://wccftech.com/amds-fx8320-overclocked-massively-8172-mhz-fx8350-crosses-8-ghz-barrier/
Yello VWpassat, do not know if you like zombie slaying or how you keep your post count so low, but made this clip shot of Dying Light on my AMD FX8320, 1866 8G RAM (9-10-9-28 timings), R7 combo I have been ranting over. Yes it is no BeamNG, but maybe you can get a feel for the speeds you could see in comparing. I might not trust my youtube if I were you, but then again, it is probably ok. I will try to post up BeamNG races I have running FRAPS software next time. Either way, again good luck in what you choose. I need to get a forsale sign up stuck on this computer.
Latency on capture devices is way too high for them to be usable - - - Updated - - - That's just remote desktop and his methodology is overly complex, besides, CLI ftw which I do via Bluetooth
Quick question. What perfomance would I get on BNG with a E7500 overclocked 22%? What perfomance would I get on BNG with a i3-4160?
The E7500 overclocked by 22% gets similar clocks to the i3, but the latter has a much more efficient architecture, is hyperthreaded, and all around better. You'll get better performance with the i3-4160. - - - Updated - - - I wonder if Intel will release MQ/HQ versions of Broadwell CPUs, or if they only care about running it on a potato now. Seriously, 15w 'U' CPUs are horribly underpowered. A Broadwell i5-5200U gets outperformed by a Sandy Bridge i5-2540M. The 5300U is barely any better. Just another reason to not buy ultrabooks.
well, i imagine most people who buy ultra-books have no plan on doing anything other then facebooking and things like that, and have no plans on gaming, so it'd probably be fast enough for that - - - Updated - - - so, anyone have any idea's on what could be causing it to restart after POST? (it's in a reboot loop as well, doesn't stop until i shut it off manually)
If you want to use an android or ios device as a second screen i can recommend iDisplay, it has worked really well for me when i have used it in the past: http://www.getidisplay.com/ I haven't tried using a windows device as a second screen, just from a quick google maxivista seems to do what you want. But expect to pay for that sort of functionality, iDisplay had a pretty ok latency for me, i was able to play BeamNG on my phone using it as a second monitor, of course cs:go would not work so well etc.
No fair. The most I've gotten on my 8320 is 5.2GHz. It gets too warm for my tastes around 4.8GHz and above. Hopefully lapping it (Sandpaper set should arrive tomorrow) will help with temps. Need better fans for the radiator too.
If you cannot enter BIOS it looks to me that you have a corrupt bios, or beyond that I'd follow P0rtalized lead of it is a peripheral problem, RAM, CPU, GPU, NorthBridge, Southbridge, MAckinawBridge, you name it, I'd have to guess it. Side note: Is BEAM programmed to allow more than 30 fps? I play locked at 30 and haven't missed a beat yet, but as another unknown, and maybe that is the idea here to keep people at bay, I get turned off by frustration of not knowing what I paid for. I am not saying I do not want to pay more, in fact I am saving for a gift purchase just so I can do it again, but I will tell you "SPOCK." I have had that near feeling while playing BeamNG. - - - Updated - - - What temperatures do you stress test to on your GIGa*? I run into a thermal wall, so you've my attention.
nope, i could access bios perfectly fine ("could" because as i said i can't really do much until i can get a new power adapter for it, atm just getting idea's to try after i get a new power adapter) i had tried removing the CMOS battery then putting it back in, didn't seem to change anything (other then causing bios to go back to default settings of course)
They got it to 8 GHz using liquid nitrogen cooling. What? BeamNG is currently locked to 60 FPS. Also, what the actual fuck does the second half of this post mean.
what do you want to know? I am curious about how cold he can run the Socket of his AM3+, if he worries about his voltage regulators overheating, does he have a load line control option on his motherboard, overclocking and cooling type questions. TDP - found out is kind of a pointless abbreviation for paying attention to your hardware temperatures. SPOCK is a reference to the avatar of the cartoon character pressing a Spock button on his desk and the TV show Startrek Spock walks over and smashes the computer desktop. Beam is locked at 30 fps for me, cant tell you more than it is not helpful to discredit others. I would know if I could get 60fps from STEAM BEAMNG. To conclude, I don't think you hate AMD, I think you hate people, but we like you anywho. - - - Updated - - - Also, I am and can be an asshole, because thinking about it further TDP is important for efficiency calculations, yet still to me seems like an oxy-moron definition... similar like saying "hey my core is over heating, but I'm not going to die, I just want you to make me colder"
I swear you seem to be either high or drunk. I can barely understand your posts. TDP has nothing to do with temperatures, it's the amount of energy that is dissipated as heat. Also, don't reference someone's avatar, use their username. It's there for a reason. And no, I don't hate AMD, have owned all AMD CPUs before my 4690K in fact. I don't hate people either, most of the time at least.
Alright fine, you win again. I follow the rules of the forum to the fifth step. Plain stupidity. - - - Updated - - - Since you are the thread creator I submit to that you humiliate the game patrons. Wait # 2. You make people feel bad about themselves.
Not the liquid nitro guy, I mean to ask you Cwazywazy. Your 8320 is at 4.8ghz says your sig. What are you doing to keep it there? Cooling VRMS, LLC? Watercooled? How does the GIGAbyte socket hold up? I ask be cause my thermal wall is near yours, but I am still slower on the Fatal1ty Killer board.
