Recently purchased this and I'm not happy with it AT ALL! Using any of the cars is a pain because as soon as I start accelerating the car starts fucking skidding all over the place? Even when I make turns at like 20mph it starts going into a drift? Damage may be realistic but steering definitely isn't! sorry if I'm being too harsh but I expected more! Maybe my settings are weird but I haven't even touched the settings yet :/ also I don't know how to change my steering sensitivity because even if I tap the left arrow once it spins the wheel like 3 times :L Like what the fuck? If anyone can tell me how to fix this shit then I'd appreciate it!
Get an Xbox 360 controller for PC at the minimum. Keyboard is treated like full at every input. Do you mash on the accelerator or pound on the brakes or full lock left or right when driving in real life?
1. Watch your language, its in the rules. (1.5 read the rules) 2. Im assuming that youre using a keyboard. In real life, do you floor the car and yank the steering from lock to lock? No? Because thats literally what you are doing with the keyboard controls. 3. Use the searchbar. Dozens of threads like this one already exist. Each one says the exact same thing (basically they all say finesse is key) 4. Major improvements have been made to the tire model recently. Pretty much the only way that you will be experiencing slidy driving is if you make the car slide. Example: pushing the gas pedal all the way to the floor in the Bolide 390. Thats a lot of horsepower going to the rear wheels in an 80's supercar, its not going to drive straight as an arrow. 5. Don't be a douche. So in conclusion, use something better than a keyboard. If you are going to use a keyboard, dont get angry at the game and its developers for your lack of skill/intelligence in driving in the game. ~edit~ Dammit kitty, ninja'd
And you thought that real cars handle like those in need for speed ? Sorry amigo but this is a simulator. ALSO you should get a controller (any)
Keyboards are not the way your suppose to play this game basically. I have a xbox one controller and it treats me well. I used to have a Fanatec Wheel and a logitech G25. Look on craigslist near by you. A cheaper logitech or thrustmaster wheel will make a world of a difference. Heres an old video of me using my 150$ junky g25 lol. I suck at commentary lmao
Get a reasonably fast/powerful car in a parking lot, go 20MPH, then turn till it locks and floor it.. You're gonna get the same results. :|
I understand what you are saying but the point is even if I tap on the accelerator or even try to turn the car it slides everywhere. I can't just buy and Xbox 360 Controller I don't have money growing out of my backside, and oh by the way, I am just a kid so I don't drive in real life, doesn't mean I don't know things about cars though.
That is because a tap on the accelerator is full throttle, you don't do that in a real car. A tap on the steering is full lock, you rarely even hit 50% lock in a real car, on the open road not even 20%. The problem is the input device you are using, game is not designed for keyboard. An Xbox controller is only £10
I have a driving license. I have a wheel for pc. I have BeamNG.drive. One thing i can say that BeamNG doesnt feel like real cars. Sorry i like this game, but the steering + clutch system is shit. Who clutches a 1.5l hatch at 5000RPM? I usually do at ~2300. I never had ha crash in real life. Everytime i drive and try to do realisticly in BeamNG i crash into something within 5mins.
While there are all these people saying get a controller, which is good bit better. The game is really no more difficult on keyboard really, I've been playing that way since release. Even the bolide will go in a straight line at full throttle.
I agree, i use the keyboard as well. Its not hard at all if you know that youre driving with a keyboard and not precision instruments
I have to agree with jujune. Love the game, but the handling isn't realistic. It's certainly more realistic with some of the newer updates, but we're still talking about the wheels drifting around even at slow speeds. I use an Xbox controller and it's still impossible to stay in the lines of the road even at 30mph. If I'm making a turn, I'm going to drift the corner because sliding is more reliable than actually turning. It's gotten a lot better and I believe it will be perfect soon. It's just not there yet. Forget going in a straight line, that's easy. Try keeping it on the proper side of the road even with the built-in cars on the built-in tracks as they wind around while doing 35mph. That's impossible.
