Nissan S20 makes heavenly noises! I'd say the best sounding engine of all time And some other notable contenders
Any Alfa with a Busso V6. Preferable the 12V but the 24V doesn't sound bad either. (156 GTA...) A common RWD (the old ones...) car affordable (their getting expensive now) for the normal man. Great cars, fun to drive, especially with some minor tweaks.
Crown vic P71 Can't ever pass on a chance to share the beautiful sound waves that are the 4.6. The roads in that video are the main reason that I wouldn't mind living in the midwest. I've also always liked the way GM's 5.3 sounds. Doesn't sound like much on here, but in person that engine absolutely screams.

Porsche 911. The Flat 6 engine makes a godly sound. Whether or not you like the 911, you'll love the sound it makes. Pretty much any mid 60's - late 70's air cooled rear mounted fourbanger This for instance wonderful Then there are Volkswagens... Beetles I find these engines sounds the most amazing.
4 cylinder engines in general sound amazing. They're pretty underrated considering how much flak they get for "being ricey". I feel that Mazda's rotary engines also sound a lot like 4 cylinder engines, just a bit throatier. That with HKS exhausts and anti-lag and you got yourself the best sounding Skyline. Also, the Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Terminator, it's even better with a Kenne Bell supercharger equipped.
4 cylinders of any kind sound amazing,had a v4 bike overtake me on my rather quiet 125cc bike, it was heaven. Also I've allways been a fan of rotary engines. You know what? why not both:
