Re: Slayer's Mods [Working Mirrors] Yeah that would work well for banger racing. What I meant by getting stuck was if that bumper would get hit enough and would end up being too short and the truck would get stuck on top of the bumper of another truck. The triangle bumper is really meant to go after tires. I have also seen bumpers that are kind of a combination between the two. It is taller and has vertical bars and is triangular. It is like a smaller train bumper. Extremely strong.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Status Update] Status Update I6 Engine Re-Model+UV Re Structure Experimentation with normal mapping, as seen on model. -Not perfect, has noise issues -Application doesn't necessarily make sense -Just an experiment for experience -Made using blender - - - Updated - - - Some Revision - - - Updated - - - Re-Bake/Made NormalMap
Re: Slayer's Mods [Working Mirrors] What about this bumper? Edit: Geometry Error Corrected Rollcage Test 60FPS Roll-Over Test Footage - - - Updated - - - Tribar Jbeam = 66% ColTris = 0% Model = ??% Textures = 100%
Re: Slayer's Mods [Working Mirrors] What I was talking about was something like this. Not as pointy on the bottom though. You should try to make a bumper like this but a lot more flat. The bottom would stick out a little more that the front. You could use the pointed one you already made to help you, just add another smaller one up a little ways and vertical pillars to connect them. also derby drivers in many cases are allowed to reinforce bumpers. They pour concrete in them or weld solid steel in them to make them stronger and heavier to last longer. That would also be a cool modification to the bumper you could do. Sorry for long post It's on the train fom back to th future for more pics
Re: Slayer's Mods [Working Mirrors] Just bored and wanted to do something based heavily on normal maps.. soo.. Custom 36inch wheel mesh and texture. WIP Fixed overpowered properties.. Now it is only super noticeable when sufficient light bounces off it. [Tread] Edit: Working on a more realistic tread.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Working Mirrors] I can not wait for the 2015 Derby truck something tells its going to be great. P.S I wish you well on further mods.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Fatal Error] Yesterday my gpu died... which was still concluded to not be tied to my poor BeamNG 0.3.8.3 performance issues as while I was getting that performance I could run GTA V at the same Very High settings with 50-59fps averages [had it locked on dxtory to 59 to avoid tearing and avoid stuttering without v-sync. FPS ISSURES I may release the truck in it's current state.. even tho it is unfinished and has a half done jbeam for a front derby bumper However I will need to wait a while for a new graphics card.. I am not sure how long it will take.. RIP GTX770 W/ATX Cooler [EVGA]. - - - Updated - - - She Lives I recently had a top fan milk spill in my pc 1 week ago and my computer survived after 5 hours of painful maintenance. It happened after I had split a glass of milk on my desk and it ran over the side of it and into my pc via the top exhaust fan and onto my ram, gpu, and mobo. The computer had shut off quickly after it had happened.. I was playing CS:GO at the time so all I was thinking about was that I would leave it and and clean it up after the last two rounds were over, forgetting about the fan situation the pc had shut off.. and than started doing a cpu loop phase and I pulled my whole power bar out from the wall and realized what this had become. It had taken at least two hours to clean the exterior mess up, than I had to remove all the ram and the gpu and clean up the mess.. and leave it open to a fan to clean it up. At the time I didn't know what to do about the dried milk left on the PCB so I left it there knowing it wouldn't conduct electricity and it had worked. However for some reason at first my computer hadn't recognized two sticks of my 4x4gb ram setup. So that night I had to remove and re-install them a few times to get them to operate, which eventually they did. However I always had the milked PCB stuck in the back of mind. exactly 8 days later I was enjoying BeamNG at 1/4 performance due to the new build when all of the sudden my computer froze and left me with no functionality and a loud buzz coming from my headphones. I thought it was over, I reset the computer and it lost all GPU recognition and became absurdly unstable requiring many restarts to obtain a boot at or past the login screen that wouldn't render a black screen. Between yesterday and today I had obtained 2 windows boots that were faulty with a code43 hardware error, or so I thought... it turned out to be on the software side of things... I was just deprived of hope every time Dxdiag turned up with "Simple VGA adapter" or "Monitor/Gateway####NonPhP VGA Adapter" along with it saying my computer was running @ 1920x1080x32 1hz?WTF. Than I had a breakthrough when I cleaned the PCB and left it under a fan for two hours to air it out.. and installed it in my second PCI-E x16 slot and it came up as error 1 [Not configured] so I downloaded a tool to remove all display drivers from 3dguru and removed all + Restart... and afterwards obtained a boot no problem which gave me a recognized fully functioning GTX770.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Fatal Error] Lol.. Yeah I place my beverages on the other side of my desk now.. fuckin 6am when it happened too. Even though the issue that happened where it went kaput with the worst case scenario driver corruption doesn't appear to be related to the spill.
Re: Slayer's Mods [She Lives!] Your pointy bumper is a good idea. They come stock on old mopars and are used on derby cars and trucks. They are great for taking out tires, but add a lot of leverage so it's possible to do more harm than good. Your pointy is a little too pointy. And none of that train cow catcher stuff.
Re: Slayer's Mods [She Lives!] Yeah that's perfect. I saw one that looked a little like a train. Nowhere near as pointy as the picture. I couldn't find a picture. I think the one I saw was home made and it looked really good. It wasn't really that much of a train bumper but that's what I first thought of when I saw it
Re: Slayer's Mods [She Lives!] pointy on a ford truck - I believe this was a users truck named Tude on wecrash. -- My suggestion, remove the push bar in front of the core support, and definitely remove the headers coming out of the side(think about what would happen when another truck hits them...). The cage, roll bar and down bars to bed looks really good. maybe add a window bar(s)?
Re: Slayer's Mods [She Lives!] Explain to me why I should remove the headers when they are mainly there for looks more than anything and in jbeam terms they barley get affected when collided with. Does this thing really need to be remade several times, I spent hours on those things... and you think I should toss em and go back to the drawing board. Personally I think they are fine, it's the bumper I am still contemplating on.
Re: Slayer's Mods [She Lives!] I didnt mean to offend you..will they be removable? i just dont like the idea of them on a derby vehicle from having a derby background if you get where i'm coming from. Its usually just a hole cut in the hood, or headers through the hood.
Re: Slayer's Mods [She Lives!] They already are fully removable. And the reason they don't go through the hood is because it is hard to manipulate the mesh of the hood for example without screwing up the look of it or warping textures.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] Covet Rally | Released with dynamic reelection support. - - - Updated - - - Status Update [Plans for the future] Next week I will be returning to here assuming my map is done, which at the rate of progress it should/may be done beta release which is good enough for a while. After this I plan to do the following things to my vehicles. Racing D-15 When and if I ever learn suspension completely I will redo it to improve upon the monstrosity that is it. Derby D-15 / Banger Racing I will return to work on this and make a new bumper from scratch yet again, knowing this should be the final product. Something like this
Re: Slayer's Mods [She Lives!] Yup, screw all that stuff that isn't on a real derby vehicle. Headers out the hood or don't have them. And no pushbars. They just get stuck anyways. Was hoping arb would do a decent mod for this pickup in derby fashion, but it's unlikely - - - Updated - - - Would be a little better if only the point stuck out and everything else was flat. I don't like the sides sticking or further than the pieces inside of them but yeah, not a bad idea - - - Updated - - - Well, being that you're not around the sport, let me put it this way, would it be cool if someone mounted stacks like that on say an f1 car? Or on a rally car? You'd prObably look at it and go, "wow that guy put a lot off hard work into something that's a) against the rules and b) hot wheels toy car looking." Again, no offense, but it really doesn't fit derbying at all.
