Its time to admit to myself that I made a terrible mistake when first building my computer, and that more cores =/= better performance in beamng. Anyhow, how much of a performance boost should i expect after upgrading to an i7 5820k? I have a gtx 970. Should i be able to run the t75 at at least 40 FPS? My current 8320 can only muster 17 FPS when I'm using that car,
Looking at the results of my own BananaBenchmark Database, I'd say in general your performance might double. An i7 5930 (which is only slightly faster if you overclock the 5820) can run about 4-5 T75 at once. How many pickups can you run at once currently? About 4-5? After the upgrade you should be able to run 10 or 11 at once. Your GTX970 won't mind BeamNG a bit, even my slightly outdated GTX 670 runs it fine at Max settings and 1080p.
I'll probably do some before and after comparisons of the game, so we can finally have an idea just how much better intel is at this game. We all know intel is better, but after asking around a bit, no one really seems to know exactly how much better. It'll be interesting. Could I run those 4 T75s at at least 30 FPS? So you mean to tell me that I did't have to upgrade my old 660 to my current 970?
You can run beam on high settings on a GTX750...graphics cards aren't the major component in getting FPS with this game...should've done your research
I don't know for sure what exactly the BananaBench references when speaking of "Realtime" but I guess, yes, that's 30fps.
I was young and naive, and had money burning a hole in my pocket. i am now older and wiser, but with considerably less money.
Realtime refers to physics framerate which, if I remember correctly, is 2000 FPS. If your physics framerate drops below that, you start getting massive FPS issues. I think if you stay above that threshold, you'll be able to get at least 30FPS.
realtime refers to physics fps, 100% or better = full 2000 physics fps, which is only possible with 30fps or higher
[QUOTECould I run those 4 T75s at at least 30 FPS?[/QUOTE] the 5820k is a sic core processor and every vehicle uses 1 core, so theoretically you should get the same performance from one t-74 - 6 t-75's
