Two errors on TechDemo startup

The order of events is: I start the program, the top error pops up, then after I click on Ok, the second appears. The game doesn't start up at all.

I have the latest DirectX installed, same goes for this which has been linked in other theads reporting the same problem (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555)
I also reinstalled it twice.

Specs: Intel i7-2670 2.20GHz, 8 Gb of RAM, 64 bit Win7. Latest drivers on everything.

Anything I can do?

Try to install this as an admin.

The common cause of this problem is old audio drivers, which can be linked to DirectX 9 too.

I can't even download the tech demo. Every time I try, it says that I don't have the right codes.
