For some reason I get really high fps for my specs.I just learned this yesterday when someone pointed out I must be exaggerating when stating I get 30-60fps with the covet on dry rock island.I didn't even realize this was abnormal. After some extensive testing I can confirm I rarely see below 30fps on dry rock island I'll list my specs below and im just curious uf anyone can figure out why its running so good for me and horrible for 70% of everyone else.also im curious what other people get for fps as well. Thanks! Core 2 Duo e8500 3.16ghz 4gb ddr2 ram Xfx r7250 1gb Settings Postfx enabled(everything except for light rays) 1280x720 Mesh and textures set to normal Lighting lowest Af off Shader lowest Drynamic reflections off
Oh well, you have lighting and shading on lowest, so they're off, and you're playing at 720p. Nearly any computer can run these settings, even on dry rock island. With these settings I get several hundred FPS (200-300), albeit with a GTX 970. If you turn settings to Low instead of lowest and stay above 30FPS I'll be impressed. I run at all at High + PostFX but no dynamic reflections, I don't like how they look. I'm capped at 60 because Vsync and I can hold that on simple maps but on DRI, Raceway, and ECU I drop to 40s. I think a little optimization is needed if I can't hold 60 at normal settings, no aa and no postFX at 1080p on a GTX 970
Mm I'll try it out right now.I mentioned my specs and settings and I was still not believed.Ill turn the settings up and see what I get - - - Updated - - - I just upped lighting and shader to low,it ranged from 21 to 38 with a dip to 14 for a split second.Mainly hovered around 25-27 20 when crashing 40 when sitting still.Looks better but i would rather the 30-60fps The game for sure needs optimization but I've seen worse.Realistically I'm suprised I can run it all with my setup, cash was tight and it was my first time upgrading a computer, didn't want to spend a bunch and break it haha.
That sounds a little more realistic for that kind of hardware. Also I would agree that a higher FPS is more important than fancy visuals
