Re: Semi (my own design) Look at the proportions of a real semi. Look at yours. Most notably, how is that trailer going to turn when its butted right up against the cab.
Re: Semi (my own design) I suggest to making it just a little bit longer behind the cab. Great job so far.
Re: Semi (my own design) My Dae files are messed up i need help Thanks for the suggestions - - - updated (imported from here) - - - another update (imported from here)!! worked on the trailer and made it more 3D instead of 2D.
Re: Semi (my own design) Model slowly and deliberately, or your work will look messy. A quick tip, when you move things around, you can press "x", "y", or "z" on your keyboard to tie the object to each respective axis, which means perfectly straight surfaces every time.
Re: Semi (my own design) Thanks zappymouse I'll try it out - - - Updated - - - Does anybody know how to texture things well
Re: Semi (my own design) I don't. But, what engine are you using in your semi? Are you using the 4.5L V8? If you are, you need to use the engine from the T75.
Re: Semi (my own design) UPDATE extended the back of the truck and smoothed it out and added some detail to the front. also added X struts to the trailer and fixed backwards faces and rounded some edges. - - - Updated - - - i also added some colors to it does anybody know how to hook a trailer up to a fifth wheel in blender? because I dont know how? i am going to start the jbeam by myself and we will see how it goes.
Re: Semi (my own design) I would recommend doing some smoothing on it. Especially on the fenders. Otherwise, it looks great. Somewhat aggressive and racey looking. As for the trailer, the scale looks off. A bit too long, possibly. You just have to line up the kingpin with the fifth wheel.
Re: Semi (my own design) HELP WANTED! Costructive Criticism: Have you been following a blueprint to model? The proportions look way off, it looks more like a toy.. (no offence intended, but somebody had to point that out.. better now than later)
Re: Semi (my own design) HELP WANTED! Exactly. The fifth wheel has a notch in it for the kingpin. The only problem I see is the distance from the back of the cab to the fifth wheel and rear axle. On a semi with a single rear axle, the fifth wheel needs to be centered over the axle. Also, there needs to be roughly 7-10 feet between the fifth wheel and the back of the cab to prevent the trailer from hitting the cab. (imported from here)
Re: Semi (my own design) HELP WANTED! thanks funkymonkey arent you working on some trailers yourself - - - Updated - - - should i be using blueprints??
Re: Semi (my own design) HELP WANTED! You don't have to follow the blue prints but use it as a reference.
Re: Semi (my own design) HELP WANTED! oh ok - - - Updated - - - Should I start working on the jbeam i need suggestions!
Re: Semi (my own design) HELP WANTED! Ok I'll work on it more - - - Updated - - - Update! I smoothed out the truck and added some minor details. Its a little weird in some places so i need to fix that. View attachment 60128
