Awesome! Guys, i have waited for this, and i bought it right away! Amazing job, you guys have done! The game is awesome, and the Physics, Graphics and Enviroments, are just PERRRRFECT! Nice Job! Keep expanding, and keep on the ggod work! Best Regards, mads0009
Fine. I have a steady 25 FPS on normal graphics, and that is a movie-quality FPS,so I'm quite satisfied with the demo result. Altough the input map is really a thing what I miss yet,so I had to press every button on my laptop to know which thing does what. Good quality game, definitely I like it.
I bought the game and it's downloading, how long until I get access to the Drive "members" area of the forum? Figured it was a small enough question to ask here instead of clogging the forum up with another topic. BTW, thanks devs for the cheap price and the great game! Looking forward to trying the "full" version later today. EDIT: Nevermind, the email link didn't work the first time, worked now (obviously)
It's a little rough around the edges but better than most alpha releases I've played in the past few years. It's fun out of the box which is a huge deal for something just getting started. The future potential is also really exciting. It works surprisingly well with the 360 controller but I can't wait for better wheel support and hopefully force feedback.
I was just wondering before I buy drive, if I buy drive, will I get updates forever or will I have to pay again to update?
Best game made better then gta and cod. My new fav game. But needs more cars lol. Not to bad on fps. I got on a full map with the pick up 50-70 fps. Game 11/10
That must be due to your PC (just read on). Whenever that happens, press K (you can disable it afterwards with L), it will take you to the Performance Debug menu. Check top right, either your Physics Step or your Graphics step, check the right-most values, if it's above 2 ms/frame, then that is what's making you "slow down". Same happens for me too. I'm always at around 24 FPS, but sometimes my Physics Step goes up to almost 5 ms/frame !!! (which will make it seem like the game is running on really low FPS, actually, it's just the physics calculating & trying to catch-up to what you are doing [at least, that's my deduction] ) Depending on what is lagging you, try appropriate steps. If it's Graphics, then reduce your Graphics settings, make sure VSync is off, since currently it uses too much power & makes even Extreme systems go weak. (If everything is low for you & you still get Graphics Step above 2 ms/frame, try removing Windows Aero [for that, right-click on My Computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Advanced tab > 1st Settings box (under Performance) > Adjust for Best Performance] ). If it's Physics, try closing background applications & such (if you use CoreTemp or possibly other CPU/PC Temp. monitoring tools, close those, I found that closing CoreTemp gave me a dramatic boost), you can also try some 'Game Boosters' to help you free up more resources.
It's is really nice, collisions etc. are awesome . There are a lot of bugs (on sand you randomly loose your front wheels or if you steer to the left or right and accelerate you kill your front wheel [only with Truck]) but im so super exited in seeing the game getting developed and optimized and i know it is very early alpha so no thing alarming
Well, I first saw a video on the Need for Speed World forums. I immediately left my laptop and went to my gaming PC, downloaded the demo (expecting some bad lag like I get on Rigs of Rods). I played for like 5 minutes and bought it, very impressed.
I know that the game is in Alpha, but there's one thing that's annoying me at the moment: Sometimes when you collide with stuff, the game stops for a moment to calculate the physics.
...i just noticed that the installer uses 4 cores! Now that IS multicore support from the ground up! Btw, the game is excellent! Higly recommend it to anyone with a midrange pc (with a not too up to date, but still kind of "oK" pc )
I'm quite amazed how much more polished, stable, and playable DRIVE is from Rigs of Rods. I see alot of good for this game in the future, but I'm going to let it grow a whole lot before making a purchase. I don't like spending ?11 on something which may or may not become big, just to let it sit in some folder til I notice it again a decade later.
You should buy it now before we decide to raise the price We are going to be adding features and content and gameplay often, all for free if you have bought alpha access already. Also, you are supporting that development with your purchase.
