I don't mind paying a few extra euros for something I would enjoy for weeks on end. I don't even have a online debit card, which makes me unable to buy anything on the internet. I would be more than happy to purchase the alpha and even help the development, but I'm stuck with everything retail for now. But it's better to have many loyal admirerers, who appreciate your work and talent rather than people who just buy the game, ignore all the effort gone into it, say it needs more guns and go back to playing cawadoody, no? In other words, it sucks to be a broke teenager.
i really like the game. played many hours since i bought it. i cant wait for the final release. keep up the good work.
just played the tech demo best car sandbox ever looks like someone is beating the shit out of nfs and especially nfsw
Wow, just wow. I'm really loving the alpha, I was sold after ~5 mins in tech demo. My 3 year old son loves it too, I wonder why? . It's surprisingly smooth, but I guess I'll have to do some optimizing and get an SSD or a new GFX card. I'm having some lag, although decent fps.
I'm not sure if this was said yet, nut I wish the automatic transmission was realistic like in ROR. Other than that, I love the game.
My first impressions are that the damage modelling is great, and the potential for a really deep and fun driving sim is there! The driving model/physics are still quite "off". It feels very squirrelly and floaty. If the cars had more weight, and gripped the turns better, I think this would be a move in the right direction. I'm definitely glad I bought into the alpha, I'm excited to watch as the game progresses. I'd love to see this turn into an open world driving sim, and keep the sandbox feel. I love that kind of stuff!
"looks like someone is beating the shit out of nfs and especially nfsw" Not even the same catagory, I love NFS, and I'm loving BNG: Drive, but they aren't even comparable, period. Great game, can't wait for the AI to be fixed.
I've been playing the tech demo guys and it's just so awesome. To tdev and all the other developers; I just want to say thank you for both Rigs of Rods and BeamNG. These are the only games that I constantly play, just love this sort of thing (as I'm sure most of you who play these games do). I'll be buying the Alpha later on this night and may throw in a little extra for you guys!
let us just say that my first impression was I MUST HAVE IT! so i downloaded the tech demo and bought the game over my phone network because my internet was down. And the tech demo is the first ''game'' i have run on my first self-built pc And it runs quite smooth.
My first impression (of the full version) was that its way laggier than the demo ._. P.S. how do i get that BeamNG Drive icon << My mom for some reason used her email when she bought it for me and idk if i can switch the email to this accounts email if thats what it is
I thought that as well? When i played the tech demo i easily go 60FPS but in the Alpha im getting 20 FPS with the same settings
Try some of the performance options mentioned here and see if that helps: http://wiki.beamng.com/BeamNG_FAQ In particular be sure to disable SSAO. How many vehicles did you have at 20FPS/what PC configuration do you have?
My first impression of the trial version was "this is cool". I have downloaded the trial version, I don't think I will buy the game until I have a computer capable of handling it well. What I have found so far: Pros: Great appearance. Super HQ truck Wonderful handling, tyre model is great. Good deformation. Super debug modes. Cons. Everything seems too bright, even in vegetated areas. Camera was really, really annoying. Not very responsive and it changes angle as you drive, it drives me crazy. Biggest drawback I have found so far. Manual transmission was not very realistic, would be nice to be able to shift into 1st from reverse. No caption telling me what tranny mode I was in. For the most part pretty good!
Graphic wise im fine getting 75 FPS+ but thats when physics are turned off. Unfortunatly when the physics are turned on my processor is letting me down which is causing the lag as its fairly old
The game looks great ! alot of varieties between cars and map interaction. Can't wait for future updates! This game will grow slowy ( 4 gentlemen working on it) so ya slowy but surely ;P Good day/morning/evening/night
The first impressions when I first tried the tech demo on the launch date was wow the game and the physics are amazing and i'm buying first thing tomorrow morning and did not regret buying it thanks to all the dev's for creating such a great simulator this was a big step up on quality from RoR.
