It looked nice. The only suggestion I have is maybe make an option for a flat from bumper and a pointy one as separate options.

Slayersen, don't be disappointed. You're working very hard on this, so don't give up with your mod. We really appreciated your hard work, and hard work ALWAYS pays everything in the future.

It looks fine to me! Can it take a good hit? Or do you have yet to get to that part?

Thanks, now if the debug modes could cooperate we'd be in business. ^>^

The new front bumper looks shiny and i like it :)

It should do good when I Jbeam it, so far I have to leave the damage dealt by this bumper to the imagination, planning to have Jbeamed this bumper and exhaust by tonight.

I also plan to make a flat version of that bumper that will look almost exactly the same just flat, rather than wrenched into a triangle shape.

Bumper looks great. Just make sure it will take a ton of hits before it gets a dent in it.

Finished Jbeam for wrenched and flat bumpers.

    e21bff5b7b.jpg

    a70f7c7ddf.jpg

    Both are very solid.
    (Wrenched will be default)

Jbeam differs enough to change impact result and collision.

Thanks to Joeyfuller2000 for idea to have flat bumper option. SeeHere [Wait a moment after clicking]

I also want to thank Mopower77 for pointing this out on previous attempts to make a decent bumper concept.

What would be a vehicle/setup to test it against and how should I test it?

What type to crash? Head on?

    Speeds? Km/h please

Just smash it into a bunch of different stuff at various speeds. The bumper shouldn't break off and it shouldn't dent or bend very much if at all. Most derby hits are under like 25mph in the real thing. Barely any really get to 25 or 20 unless the guy really puts the pedal to the floor and finds a lot of traction. 90% of the time the bumper should go with the frame as the frame gets bent.

Looks like someone will make the first derby car with a pointy bumper
It's look perfect. Everyone will like this for sure.

    Perfect

Just make sure to hit something many times at that speed. Do it until the truck wont work and tell us what happens

Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux]

I will test it multiple times at collisions doing speeds of 35-36 km/h

    32km = 20mph
    40km = 25mph
    35-37km = in between [mph]

Going to do so until it stops operating and provide pictures.

This one litterally bounced off @40km [25mph] with no effect

Oh never mind it just quit working is all that happened, lol.

Flat reworked at better strength to match pointy from jbeam standpoint.

Death [no cosmetic change from 6 again]

What does this mean? They are really stiff.

So both of these bumpers can hit a concrete corner @ 35-37km/h about 7 times.

PLEASE NOTE: Exhaust WIP no Jbeam Skeleton made yet.

If necessary I my be able to improve the strength of them even further.

Looks pretty good, but bumper doesn't have to take on 100 mph hits into a brick wall. It should realistically only need enough strength to hit the exact same truck and bumper at about 20 mph each. Maybe bend slightly in that scenario. Not complaining though, we'll see how that hard of a bumper does versus the non-reinforced frame.

It was odd that is survived a brick wall at that speed, I only posted because the hood looked hilarious.

Also the bumper usually does bend slightly or more half of the time under a 20-25mph head on collision with the same or opposite bumper on another truck.

You should give the beta to someone that's having a good knowledge of "demolition derby"
So that person can explain what's wrong or what should you fix about the bumper and the other else to you

This is just a suggestion and sorry for terrible english =P

That bumper is definitely stiff enough. Looks great man. Looks like it is getting close to a release. Now all we need is some competition. How about a roamer derby edition?
