well I notice your decals in the distance are also wrong, have you tried re downloading and extracting the map?
the map was made to be extracted, not in a zip, it should look like the picture from yesterday of my level folder
Yes. it looked exactly like that. it was extracted from the zip, i do that with all my mods - - - Updated - - - Nope. redownloaded, exact same problem
I don't get why the non-snow trees are even loading on this map. A common file set-up being used by both maps?
Then I declare you as a magical unicorn with a problem no one else can replicate! But seriously, the last idea I have is to upload a copy of your log after running the map. Maybe it will tell the us the answer.
Okay, I did fresh and complete installs of both Rally Forest and Rally Forest Snow as instructed. Both maps installed and sitting side by side in my level selector. I can select both levels in any fashion without a single hitch or tree problem or material problems. I think Clayton8or's issue is definitely localized and I suggest the following process to nail it down and others may find this helpful. This may not be the best way but it works flawlessly for me: CLOSE BEAMNG NOW. 1: Entirely delete all Rally Forest maps in every folder possible (main cache, the levels folder under that, anything in C:\users\documents, and in the main content/levels. Also delete the zip in the mods folder and in your downloads folder, wherever you have these maps sitting delete the hell out of them. 2: Download Rally Forest Snow and put the ENTIRE unzipped zip into the mods folder. Open up explorer and go into the main BeamNg directory C:\Steamlibrary\steamapps\common\BeamNGdrive\lua\common\groundmodel. Copy and paste that groundmodel to another safe folder anywhere you feel it is safe. Now delete the stock groundmodel file. 3: Go back to the entire zip in the mods folder and click to open it, DO NOT UNZIP, just open it to see the contents. Right click and copy the groundmodel to the same folder you saved the first groundmodel to so they are both together in a safe place. Copy and paste that new Rally Snow groundmodel back to C:Steamlibrary\steamapps\common\BeamNGdrive\lua\common. To verify it is the right groundmodel file open it with notepad and under the snow section should be "snow 1, snow 2, snow 3, etc.". 4: Go back to the Rally Snow zip in the mods folder and unzip the level to the main contents\levels as usual. The map should now be installed. Fire up BeamNG and the Rally Forest Snow level should show in the selector, open it up and it should work. 5: Download Rally Forest "normal" and place the ENTIRE unzipped zip into the mods folder. Unzip it from there to contents\levels as usual. In the level selector both maps should be sitting pretty, side by side, and both maps fully playable without issues. DONE! I know unzipping the mod isn't necessary in certain instances but I do it so I can access the assests, same with vehicles. The process of saving rather than unzipping the groundmodel is just my preference. If any of this is in error feel free to rip me a new one. If the tree issue still persists after this then I suggest doing a file integrity check through Steam because something has been tampered with or altered in another BeamNG file most likely. Hope this helps.
Ok, groundmodel is fine for me, and i installed it exactly the same... EXCEPT i didnt install and load the snow version first. so i will try reinstalling BOTH of those and FIRST THE SNOW STANDALONE then OPENING IT then the other one. - - - Updated - - - Nope. nothings working at all. i removed all my mods and reinstalled JUST the standalone and it still has those exact trees.
Oh this map is just wonderful, it's actually pretty FPS Friendly too! 22-27FPS Most of the time on my Craptower (and i'm used to that FPS) Very fun to rally on, probably my favorite map currently. Also loving the corners at times, almost drove off one to my doom in the cold lakes. Edit: Just cannot stop glancing at the super detail of this map, very well optimized too
Awesome map, so beautiful and well made. Best rally map I have tested yet. Thanks very much for this, keep up good work!
So you now have a clean, updated and "modless" copy of BeamNG and still have the tree issue with just Rally Forest Snow installed?
Aboroath, thanks for going through all this effort to help! I still would like to see a copy of your log after running the map, it should show where the trees are being loaded from.
