Oh for sure, no question in my mind there, unless someone did some extreme overtime on the Dodge with a SawZaLL. Personally I just have never heard of a Veloster, or can recognize the badge from its shots, so really I don't have an idea what is under the hood.
My question was actually directed at that, if one put each transmission Neutral, and red-lined their engines, which would blow their gaskets first (or seize however)? I honestly think, the truck would win, even if as you say, is slower, but seriously more fueled, so I still don't know.

    Well that wasnt clear.

Veloster is a hyundai. 1.6l direct injected, also a manifold injected version available in a few markets (middle east, chile, brazil). 1310kg for turbo + auto tranny which is the absolute heaviest option, 1243Kg for N/A manual. 138Hp and 167Nm.

Got more than 100hp per ton there. Not far off 100hp per litre either. Korea for you.

    EDIT: Korea, korea, not japan.

Eeh, I'd pass. $750 max. That's coming from me, where my car was in much worse shape.

Idiot. Most I'd pay is $500, and that depends on what condition the engine is in.

I'm talking in general, but you still get the Toyota PU reliability. Just don't buy it.

If the lady started with $2500, I think it'd be hard to get her under a grand anyway. I'll just talk to her about it next time I see her old tempo out front.

Today I painted the brake calipers red on my Hyundai Veloster.

    Good looking ride!
I'm really digging the Veloster, it's a cool looking little car, love that sloping roofline on it.

Last sunday :) Sadly the video is one of my slowest runs due to the phone cam being full, but you get the idea. That lap was a 41.4 or something, my fastest lap that day was a 38.4... I'm completely hooked on autocross now and want to do this more often, it's SUCH a thrill and feels so good when you improve your time every lap!
Also, my blinker fell out on the way to the event... Because racecar, I guess...

My mom's car is an utter piece of shit, the only good bit of it being the engine, decent amounts of power/torque, can light up the front wheels in 1st easily. But, we're not dealing with the engine today. 2000 Saturn LS2.
Passenger's side brake, mom happened to wear the pad to (almost) its rivets, and we were replacing the pads, and seeing how bad the rotor was. The rotor was fine, took the caliper off, installed new pads, and the fucking caliper pins didn't want to go back in. These are weird caliper pins that needed a 7mm hex head to unscrew, and the threads wouldn't grab on one pin. So we swapped them around, the one pin we had didn't work on the top or bottom. So now the car is sitting in the driveway, and we have to Dremel and belt sand it down enough to where it can grab, although it was fine before we took it out. Fuck that piece of shit car. The first thing that happened when we got it, next day in fact, the thing went into limp-home mode coming home from school, couldn't get past 25mph. Still pissed typing this.

Don't remember, but it was a vacuum leak in the intake manifold.

$400 to fix, looks like a motherfucker to fix too. Runs good though if you prod it. Only good part about the car.

    Or try German cars.

The other day, I got a knock sensor code for my es300. Shit was under the upper AND lower intake manifold. Me and my buddy did work. Had to take out the throttle body, air housing, two obnoxious intake brackets, fuel rail, fuel injectors, EGR housing, countless hoses and wire clips, too many nuts and bolts, hex and inverse hex, you name it, we took it out. Just for one fucking shit knock sensor. But we got it done and man, what a difference. Even before the code, didn't realize the power that it lacked randomly. It was still running like a champ, but now, I can spin tires like I never have

Your username is confusing me, it's 1UZ-FE, which is a 4.0L V8, yet your ES300 (presumably) has a 1MZ-FE in it, which is the 3.0L V6. Confusion.
