I'm done trying to download it, it won't appear in my game, any suggestions? I've read the read me, and put the ground model in the lua. Does it work in the Experimental version, I'm not changing versions just for a map. But it looks cool.
Since you said your "not updating for the experimental version" which is long gone, im assuming you have a very outdated version of beam. try getting a steam key and getting the game on steam which has the latest updates and will continue to get updated.
I have a steam key, but i do not have the newest version of the game, but my game decided to let me play rally forest, after an hour of file exploration and renovation, it worked
Having just recently started posting the forums, I have to say that this map is one of the most beautiful, well made addon maps for BeamNG! It is amazing and maybe even a level beyond the default game maps . I love both the regular version and the so well converted to snow version. I even used this map for some of the preview pictures and video footage for my BTR-80 mod. If I had any complaints it would be the springtime/summery sounding bird sounds in the winter snow version, they are excellent in the regular version, but they just sound a bit too much like spring time for the winter one. Other than that, amazing job, dpitkin!!!
I have to agree with what other people are saying - this is seriously one of the most beautiful maps I have come across. I've completely fallen in love with the winter version. I don't know whether it is possible or not, but would there be any chance of creating a heavy rain/snow version of both maps?
You know when you've just made a great map when you impress the developers. Keep up the good work dpitkin!
Is this map by any chance modeled after Mt. Rainier in Washington? I only ask because of the evergreen trees, as well as the sign that says "paradise national park" since there is a paradise national park at Mount Rainier. Also that right turn onto the bridge after that sign is pretty much exactly the same as the bridge going over the river coming down from Mt. Rainier. It was a total trip cause all the roads seemed so vaguely familiar. Could just be coincidence but I love the map nonetheless, still have yet to play with the snow version.
http://www.beamng.com/threads/7866-VW-Polo-R-WRC I'm from Washington, so that could be why. The forest of Washington are what I am most familiar with, so I guess it makes sense the map looks similar.
As AR162B already pointed out, some weird thing happen when you try to drive in a certain stream. Try to back up, you go forward, try to drive forward, you go backwards all while having no traction whatsoever. And the suspension acts up. https://youtu.be/gSGY25hAJUY
This is a great looking map. It's fast and scary. In the above video, I drove using the Xbox 360 Controller. That made it a bit more difficult than if i would have used the wheel, thats for another video. A scenario for this map would be great. The layout of it is perfect. There is (if i recall correctly) 2-3 different routes, that would be great for scenarios. Thanks for this map!
