So basically, it would only do anything for me if I would use a 2nd monitor or render something. How will this work with DX12 though? Will it make the two GPUs work together by using some kind of magic or is it just marketing BS? Anyways, will be gone for a sec to get the 6450 in. I know nothing about installing GPUs though, so if anythign goes wrong, you can expect me to ask a few questions.
Actually, (due to unfortunate things) I am running my primary monitor (temporarily a cheap 1440x900 tv) on GTX 650 and my satellite monitor off integrated graphics. The 650 still does the heavy computing for the satellite monitor, but I am just using Rainmeter, Steam chat, and Skype chat on it, so the 650 does nothing. - - - Updated - - - I don't know about DX12, haven't done my research on it yet. You could do what I plan to do with one of my 8400GS's. Use it for satellite monitors. Or primary while the muscle renders.
Actually it should do 60fps at medium-high settings, with 2-3 vehicles. The CPU is however powerful enough to run the T-75, which your laptop probably can't run. If you aim for 30fps, you could easily max out the game in 1080p and run 3-4 vehicles.
It'd work, I've done it. The main card will do all the video/gaming stuff and the other one won't do anything unless you use it for rendering/mining/folding/etc.
As in, you know, bitcoin mining? And folding at home? (Disease research. Beamng has a folding team. Search for it.)
Second GPU isnt supported by the Motherboard. I guess ill go for an extra 2GB of RAM then. Also, sorta for the weird capitilisation, it's the phone doing stuff.
Yo guyssss is the core i5 4690k have the IHS soldered? Plz don't tell me they use the polymer shiz i would rather have a cooler cpew
Only has one pcie slot. Also, the sfrew for the graphics cards interface is literaloy unreachable, so there go my dreams of a 970
unlike with amd crossfire where it just has to have the bandwith, nvidia has to "certify" a motherboard for being capable of whatever number of cards in SLI, or it won't work/is unsupported
He isn't using CrossFire or SLI. Just having two GPUs in the same PC. That sucks. I modded my 8400GS to get it into an x1 slot. Simple enough, except I need to a better job of cutting things so that the 8400GS stays in.
That and the fact that there are no other pcie slot in the Motherboard board. Heck, there isnt even a second set of SATA ports.
How unreachable is the screw? Pics? You might be able get away with modding the case to get to the screw.
Threre are only about 2mm of space. Can't get pics, because I just put everything back together. ------ So, I've spent 15 minutes trying to get my PC open, and then another 30 minutes taking another PC apart, only to realise that it was pointless. Well, atleast I didn't break anything. Question : Is there a way to get PCIE cards into a normal PCI slot? If yes, then I could crossfire my old Windows XP PC with a 6450 and a myterious other card.
I remember having to flame on the RoR forums about that question due some morons. Simple answer is no, you cannot.
OK. ------ I might ask my parents about a graphics card (AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB GDDR5 mini-itx PCIE... ) we still have, and if they'd be ok with me selling them. If they are, then I'll ask if anybody wants the graphics card, and if somebody actually wants it, I'll just give them to him/her. The price will be determent by the person that the graphics card is sold to.
You can get max 20€ for it. If you want (but I'd rather not reccomend it), you can ship it here and sell it for 40-50€.
I'm actually fine with only getting a low amount of money for it, since I have literally no use for it. Also, I would just give it away for free, if anybody wants it but doesn't want to pay money for it. Just need to wait till Friday for my father to get back from work, so that I might be able to get his agreement on this thing.
