Don't know why this thread is dead, but a friend bought an '05 Accord coupe, said he knew about the takata airbag recall, said he was going to the dealership ASAP, and I've been bugging him about it for a week.

So, I was driving home from the store a couple nights ago. I was passing a gas station and this old brown Chevy 3500HD that was towing and old broke down Range Rover was trying to turn onto the road. The horrid hunk of crap breaks down in the middle of the turn.

So, it was an old, brown, rusted Chevy pickup, and old rusted trailer, and a broke down Range Rover to create a conglomerate of crappyness blocking the damn road.

If I put 3.73s in my car and got my dual exhaust I would have a prayer but otherwise... With duals my car is around 243 vs 250 for yours.

I'd imagine that your grand marq has 3.27s? I was thinking 2.73s, because that's what's in a lot of civilian panthers, but idk.
Unless the online build sheet lies, my car has a limited slip 3.55 in it, which I'm fine with. It's the happy medium between low end grunt and fuel economy IMO.
Along with dual exhaust and a less restrictive intake setup, p71s also have less dooma-hitchits and gizmos on them to slow them down, like big, heavy, power bench seats.
I wouldn't mind a modestly equipped late model grand marq, though.

2.73s. It idles all the way to 75mph-ish. I have the P-71 intake on mine. Curb weight is 4050lbs. Not to bad. About 400lbs lighter than the new Taurus.
If I were to do the exhaust I'd have reasonably respectable numbers for an 11 year old grandpa car.

I picked the crown vic up and brought it home.
I quickly realized that the driver's seat has been switched out for a newer 2011 seat, which got absolutely massive headrests to conform to a new safety standard, and they ruin the whole seat. I'm not kidding, the headrests are so huge and protrude so far that it makes the seat uncomfortable to sit in. It's like a giant hand pushing forward on your head.
Alright, so, not a big problem. I'll just switch the 03-10 style headrest from the passenger seat into the driver's seat, right? Nope, can't do that. The metal rods are a different size and are closer together on the newer headrests.
I may go as far as buying a whole new seat because the headrest pisses me off so much. For now I just have it turned around backwards, which is a temporary solution I guess.
Other than that I'm pretty happy. Drives nice, AC blows cold, etc.
I didn't get an opportunity to floor it on the way home. :\
I need to get to work taking the laptop stand and police center console out for now. Of course the laptop stand mounts under the seat so I gotta unbolt the passenger seat.
    Nothing's easy. :|
    I'll get some pics soon.

You could leave the laptop stand in it, add a laptop and play BeamNG while in traffic, also it may make people think it actually is still a police vehicle psyching them into leaving it be. Then again you know what you like. I like pics.

I was thinking about putting a laptop in it for shits and giggles, but the stand rattles constantly and gets in the way of the passenger. And I don't want to look more like a cop than I already do.
Dammit. Pics are upside down. Retaking.

Taking stuff apart is fun too. Use Windows to rotate them.

You can rotate pics in the Windows pic viewer thingy. There's buttons on the bottom.

Also, why not stick a laptop in it before you take it out? Just for shits n giggles.

Not on a computer. On mobile.
Because I don't think any of my laptops would fit it. I just wanted to get it out mainly. It's annoying.
Stabbed the throttle pulling it out of the garage. Limited slip works well.

The wiring in this car is a nightmare.
Its got the factory harness that's still connected and usable, and then it's got 3 factory wiring harness's worth of police wiring that isn't connected to anything at all. It's just there, getting in the way.
Its factory installed police wiring, so I at least have a manual telling me which rats nest goes where.
I got the police console out, vacuumed and cleaned the interior, washed the exterior, investigated funky front passenger window operation at its respective switch; concluded faulty switch, hooked the rear power window controls back up so the rear passengers can roll their own windows down, locked keys in trunk; fixed by switching out the connector on the trunk release so it didn't require the ignition to be turned on to pop the trunk, investigated the radio not picking up any channels; discovered that the antenna wire had come undone from the integrated-rear-window-antenna, cleaned funky adhesive goo stuff off of the trunk and roof.
The only big things left to do at this point is to fix the antenna, attempt to get most of the police harness out, touch up the paint chips to prevent further chipping, deoxidize the headlights, repaint my faded wheels, and buy some center caps.
Also, I found a microphone tucked up into the headliner. The government is spying on me. D:
