Very nice mountains! The road layout looks great too. That's what every map needs... mountains. Gridmap? Mountains. Desert maps? More snowy mountains. (Well maybe not...)

As for the materials, I'd help if I knew anything...

Also, is that a river in the top right corner of the picture?

And I never thought too much about, this but the green texture looks a bit too light. Maybe it just looks like that because there aren't really any trees yet...

Thanks pickle!..The texture appearing lighter is because I'm using the base forestfloor out of ECA instead of something
else. Trees are going to wait until the very end and currently I'm gunning for getting the map back to where it was. After
that I'm taking it very cautiously. Until I get the duplicate terrain materials issue figured out I'm hesitant to do anything
    at all.

I drove on this with a few vehicles for a couple hours and the term "rollercoaster" kept entering my mind. Now some may
be wanting complete realism but I want to take this opportunity to say there are some completely un-realistic aspects to
this map but any thoughts regarding that should quickly disappear once it's driving time. ( hopefully ).

Sounds like fun! I don't mind if there is some unrealism.

Take your time, continue being cautious, and good luck again!

Glad you are sticking with it after all the troubles you had.
I have had several "start over from scratch moments" during my fumbles with the map editor. With so many variables to go wrong, it's no wonder things are hard to figure out. I had just sort of got familiar with how it was working, then they merged the stable and experimental builds together and I was back to square one. My enthusiasm fell through the floor and Its taken months to get back into it again.

Love the look of the map and look forward to trying it out. :)

Hey aboroath, I like your map! It looks really pretty. I have a couple of suggestions:
    A small town
    A riverside road
    Dangerous cliffs

Thanks Jammin. You nailed it. I'm doing double duty I think because I resisted the experimental theory to the
very end and then the snapshots idea went down and then the Steam release changes.etc. It's been quite the
lesson in perseverance and I've done an amazing job not keeping two things clear in my confused little head:
this is a friggin' beta and that's what I signed on for, and , I'm trying to learn principles, theories and practices
that a lot of people go to colleges or trade schools for. My big picture on all this is that when BeamNG reaches
a level of stability and optimization that is more or less final I intend on being a master at understanding it's
    every little nut and bolt.

I love doing this probably more than any hobby I've ever done, the creativity outlet is awesome and the power
to put my mind into a walkable and driveable world is beyond comparison.

I've noticed your re-newed attention to your map and hope you too can figure out it's quirks! My current challenge
is figuring out why I'm getting dulplicate terrain materials, dangerous territory:p.

Thanks Joey! There will be cliffs but not in the deliberate sense, you'll have to work for it.
I've added a couple of lakes so it may appear from the screens like there is a river but there is not.
I need to keep things manageable right now and a river will have to wait for another day but it's
definitely something I'm eager to do.

As for the town, that was honestly never in the cards as this is a very "wilderness-ey" location.
A city map would be fun but I currently have zero skills in modeling programs and knowing my
proclivity for detail and realism I would want custom structures all over the place. I will no
doubt try something with the ECA assets eventually.

I look forward to the release of the map! :) maybe I could add a town once it's released.

Absolutely! This would be a great time trial\scenario map if I never get around to figuring those out too.

I see 0.4.0.6 is out....time to face the fire!

Okay it looks good. A couple of materials were missing because I didn't have the diffuse texture in my level folder.
    Sweet.:D

Now I've got the feeling you weren't just "slothing around in grandma's 1977 Moonhawk Country Squire station wagon" now were you?

Are all updates or expansions going according to plan? Crashed another Moonhawk lately? :p

Keen eyed viewers will see I was doing anything but "slothing" on this one. The supercharged wagon is a friggin' dream to
drive here but I stick with grandmas barge because it's just so damn stock awesomeness.

Got through the latest update just fine, only issue was I didn't have the base diffuse (macro) texture sitting in my level folder.
    Quick fix on that.:D

Slowly adding stuff back, paying way more attention to materials, and I think barring another calamity,
I should have this back to where it was by mid July.

Awesome to hear of your progress! Great that you should be able to finish this time. I hope you still have fun adding everything. :)

I'm not guaranteeing anything but for the foreseeable future it looks good. Regardless of what happens going forward, I
am having a blast doing this and if I see something coming down the pike that renders this and all currents maps useless
    I will release it unfinished.

Hopefully with your knewly obtained knowledge from the previous failure, you are able to prevent similar problems. Otherwise, glad that you're still having fun. :) I also hope that a new update will not mess anything up... Good luck again!

Bright and early, packing up the old worn out DOT site and moving 15 miles to one with hot water.
