    Hello!

I've been inspired to play Beam a lot recently due to the massive performance increase I've gotten (thanks to "no collision")

Sounds are a big deal when playing a game like this. I can't play the game with much enjoyment in its default form because the sounds are the same for all cars and are rather terrible.

I have compiled custom sounds for almost all the default cars in BeamNG!

All have been coded by hand to work with the script :D (I say coded but I mean Notepad ++'d)

"Why aren't all the cars done?" The Bolide didn't work...at all, and I am not very pleased with the Inline-4 sounds so I only did 2 vehicles.

    The Mod:

    Custom sounds for

    • Ibishu Covet: Has a normal and turbo'd sound in Sport tuning and Stage 2 (not great sounds on the turbos...)

    • Ibishu Pigeon: Best Inline 3 sound I could compile

    • Bruckel Moonhawk: Inline-6, V8, and contains a Sporty V8 Sound when using the Supercharged engine

    • Gavril D-Series: Inline-6, V8, and, like the Moonhawk, contains a sporty V8 sound when using Stage 2 tuning

    • Gavril Grand Marshall: SOHC V8 Sound (sounds like a Crown-Victoria).

    • Gavril H-Series: Inline-6 and V8

    • Hirochi Sunburst: Modern Inline-4 with a Turbo'd sound in the tuned models (WIP I4, Going to record an actual engine this week).

    Sources:

Automation, Live for Speed, and Audacity, Fireboyd78 and Mr Hankey for the unique vehicles script and Dummiesman for the "sounds hack"

    Install:

    0: Place sounds.lua in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\lua\vehicle\[paste here]

1: Go to the root of BeamNG's vehicles (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles)

2: Copy the involved zips (fullsize, pigeon, sunburst, van, pickup, hatch, and moonhawk)

    3: Go to Documents/BeamNG/mods

    4: Paste what you've copied

    4.5: Delete those vehicle's zips in BeamNG's vehicle root (C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles)

5: You can either extract all of the files and copy my mod in or leave the .zips as is and copy in the mod individually.

6: Delete the vehicle cache in Documents/BeamNG/cache [version here]/vehicles

In-Game (Video Time, forgive poor quality and sound quality)

Sometimes things probably won't work as they should:

Process 1: Choose a Part Config

Process 2: Get rid of the engine then put it back in

If you followed me through that, you're a genius, because I confused myself...a lot lol!

Will take this down if requested by creators.

You know anything you put in Docments\BeamNG.drive\mods overwrites default content right?

So you only need to make a zip for people to drop into the mods folder. Your installation method is extremely complicated to some users.

I'll fix up the process, don't know why I didn't think of that.

I recently tried something like this and one thing to note is if you put the sounds.lua into a zip that has the file under thezip.zip/lua/vehicle/sounds.lua it doesn't work... =S

It goes into an unzipped folder called lua in the .zip in where all the vehicle's files are.

That is what I mean you open the zip than there is an un-zipped folder called lua than another called vehicles and than the sounds.lua file.

Making it Lua/Vehicles/sounds.lua is the directory inside the zip

    I didn't put a zip in a zip

Ah right, the mod manager doesn't like to mount mods that don't have a mis/jbeam :(.

There doesn't appear to be a v8straight.ogg anywhere...? I see that it should belong somewhere in the Moonhawk directory, but I can't find it?

No more support for this mod in anticipation for official sounds.
