No one ever got our Fords

 

Speaking of Aussie Fords.
When FPV closed down they had a few of their mighty V8s left over, what is happening to the engines built for these you ask?

Well they are not being wasted. They are being sent to the United States where they are being put in Police Fords (These 3 have the engine)

That Fusion should fly. It's not too slow even with a 1.6 Ecoboost, yet a Boss 315 motor in it.

 

There's shoehorning at its finest.

Ford should do a limited production SVT Fusion with that engine in it for the public. I'd buy it.

 

I'd put that motor in a Fiesta if I could. Fiesta RS anyone?

 

now this is my kind of commedore

 

id rather a twin turbo V6...I have a soft spot for V6. The Noble uses the old school Duratec 3.0 Block, Ford made a pretty solid engine there.

 

I want sauce on this, i have a huge doubt they actually shoved a longitudinal v8 in place of a transverse v6 or i4, hell, no trans would fit in the exhaust hump
not to mention the rear suspension wouldnt handle it and the front would need MAJOR tweakage

 

Minus the fact that actually, the mondeo/fusion platform is already kitted for AWD.
Tranny mounting is definitely an issue, but if a mustangs v8 and tranny can be wedged under a mk1 focus, it can probably be done on the mondeo too. Hell, the focus swap, ford had a hand in that and the kits are still available to this day, although for the focus it does require relocation of the fuel tank and grafting of the mustang SRA inplace of the existing rear suspension, not likely an issue on a current gen fusion considering it already has provision for rear drive.

On the way for 2017 supposedly, although I'd still take the focus RS over it.

 

this is true, however the highest output fusion is nowhere near the 420 hp and 400ft-lb put out by the 315 engine

 

I would kill for a Focus RS. Confirmed with close to 350 HP, AWD. Much want. lets hope cobb comes out with a stage package for it...

 

There's a really nice mk2 rs in my town. Love it.

 

Can't wait for the Mk3.

 

The Fusion with the 5.0 Coyote V8 is still AWD btw

Got my permit appointment moved back to August.

Whoo. I guess.

 

I got to drive my grandfather's 1951 MG TD today. It's a very, very small car. I could barely fit in it, and it's probably one of the most difficult cars to drive slow, the three pedals are extrememly close together (I've got size 12 shoes, so it was really difficult to differentiate the clutch from the brake), but it was a lot of fun. The four speed transmission wasn't precise at all, I often couldn't tell if I was in neutral or in gear.

 

and now you've learnt why you book things well in advance.

 

I didn't even think I had to make an appointment.

100% their fault.

 

THeir fault that you didnt do the research, sound logic there.

 

It's their fault that I have to make an appointment when like all other states don't.
