I could not get this track to load. To get it to load i had to edit the file Race_track.mis and change from terrainFile = "art/terrains/Race_track/Race_track.ter"; to terrainFile = "levels/Race_track/Race_track.ter"; After this the track loaded fine. Love this track. Great job!
i like this map but i dont think this is supposed to happen lol i was driving down in the ocean and that happend . r u gonna make the water react like water in a update? i like the waves and i also get that error while loading the map
Good...but files are in the wrong place so the terrain doesn't create, the map doesn't have a custom title different from "Race_Track" or a different description from "A torque level", and what happened for 4 months? Did you forget about this and decide to release it today without testing it
For anyone who clicking OK on the error is a problem, (EX. Running fullscreen on a lower resolution because your PC cannot output in native w/o lag) Find this line in the Race_track.mis file using Notepad or another text editor Code: terrainFile = "art/terrains/Race_track/Race_track.ter"; and replace it with this one: Code: terrainFile = "levels/Race_track/Race_track.ter"; Also, why isn't .mis an allowable file type for attachments? or .ter?
Hey, if you mean don't make a video (distribute) on other websites, I can take it down, but I made this. Is a cruise around the track:
Thanks for the feedback. Thanks, I'll tweak the shadow resolution for the next update and probably try to tweak the ambient lighting. I'll do my best to fix the animation thing or maybe even disable it because it doesn't seem to work right with such a simple trees. The files are in the wrong place because I forgot to move them. I decided to create a blank heightmap just before the release because afaik a mission without .ter might cause in some cases troubles. The map doesn't even use heightmap so it doesn't matter if you have it or not, it just gives you an useless error message. If you want to fix the error message check pulley999's post. I will update the file again within few hours. I have many hours into this track, hundreds of laps have been made and I have even had a group of people testing it for me. And what happened in 4 months? Military happened. It have taken most of my freetime so time I have been able to put into this project have been limited. The ocean bits are there just for the scenery. You are not supposed to drive to the water bits Therefore, water physics would be pretty useless imho. About distributing I meant the actual map so people who don't own .drive can't get it. About media, I don't care who sees it, go ahead Nice video by the way! - - - Updated - - - Updated the file, no error message, improved ambient light and shadows.
Really fun track, noticed some bugs, but really fun. First lap, was tearing it up, then the chicane came out of no where :'(
As you can see, I am clearly born to drift, considering my tire marks going everywhere, and the fact that I am using the AWD FT40 to drift. Just kidding, I am horrible with drifting, but at least I am getting somewhere, and I have at least one shot where I am appearing to do it right: Does anyone have any advice for me with drifting? I am using my Xbox controller, and I feel that what I am doing is not the correct way (I would consider using AWD cheating, both for drifting and as a way to control the Bolide a bit more efficiently) Also, is there any way to make the screenshots save as a JPEG? I know that PNG is not a good format for forums.
I was actually able to get the normal RWD Bolide to drift mildly well. But I am still not going to be doing full laps drifting anytime soon.
Great map Jali. I noticed you still have the issue with the skybox texture still being a little opaque in the corner. Also I recommend the shadow settings from http://wiki.beamng.com/Terrains:Quickstart_guide#Level_Basics , I think those look better than the ones you are currently using. Also IMHO using lerp alpha transparency on the chain fences instead of alpha threshold looks a bit better. Overall a great map, can't wait for the night version.
