Re: everything toyota PRERUNNER BETTER SUSPENSION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Short explanation of my shocks and springs:

    Dampers

The dampers/shocks include the "limits" this relates to the maximum extension and contraction your shock can make.

    Code:
    //limits
             {"beamDamp":0},
             {"beamLimitSpring":2001000,"beamLimitDamp":6000},
             {"beamSpring":0,"beamDeform":"FLT_MAX","beamStrength":"FLT_MAX"},
              {"beamPrecompression":1.0, "beamType":"|BOUNDED", "beamLongBound":0.2, "beamShortBound":0.24},
              ["rsmal","HJFrstl",{"beamDampRebound":0,"beamDampVelocitySplit":0.0,"beamDampFast":0,"beamDampReboundFast":0}],
              ["rsmar","HJFrstr",{"beamDampRebound":0,"beamDampVelocitySplit":0.0,"beamDampFast":0,"beamDampReboundFast":0}],

All the beamdamp and beamspring should ALWAYS be set to 0, as this does not simulate the dampers nor springs, just how far they can extend and contract.
The only values to be used are the "beamLongBound" and "beamShortBound" as these will define it.
"beamLimitSpring" and "beamLimitDamp" is the spring and damping value that prevent the beam from becoming shorter/longer than you want it to be, you want these values to be very high.

    The actual dampers

    Code:
             {"beamDamp":6800},
             {"beamLimitSpring":0,"beamLimitDamp":7500},
             {"beamSpring":0,"beamDeform":"FLT_MAX","beamStrength":"FLT_MAX"},
              {"beamPrecompression":1.0, "beamType":"|BOUNDED", "beamLongBound":9.2, "beamShortBound":9.1},
              ["rsmal","HJFrstl",{"beamDampRebound":4860,"beamDampVelocitySplit":0.160,"beamDampFast":2200,"beamDampReboundFast":2060}],
              ["rsmar","HJFrstr",{"beamDampRebound":4860,"beamDampVelocitySplit":0.160,"beamDampFast":2200,"beamDampReboundFast":2060}],

These are just dampers, they are no springs! they don't support the weight of the car.
All spring values should be set to 0.
The "beamLongBound" and "beamShortBound" values should be higher than the ones you set in //limits.

    Springs

These are the coils, the springs, these are what hold the vehicle up.

    Code:
    //springs
              {"beamLimitSpring":28000000,"beamLimitDamp":0},
              {"beamSpring":16000,"beamDeform":"FLT_MAX","beamStrength":"FLT_MAX"},
              {"beamPrecompression":1.200, "beamType":"|SUPPORT", "beamLongBound":9, "beamShortBound":1.0},
              ["rsmal","HJFrstl",{"beamDampRebound":0,"beamDampVelocitySplit":0.0,"beamDampFast":0,"beamDampReboundFast":0}],
              ["rsmar","HJFrstr",{"beamDampRebound":0,"beamDampVelocitySplit":0.0,"beamDampFast":0,"beamDampReboundFast":0}],

I use support beams as springs only extend as far as they were originally produced, with offroad vehicles this often being smaller than the shock can extend.
All damp values should be set to 0.
The "beamLongBound" value should be higher than the ones you set in //limits.
A lower "beamLimitSpring" and a lower "beamshortbound" makes you able to set dual rate springs.
As an example: with "beamshortbound" being 0.1 and "beamLimitSpring" being 2000, your spring value will increase with 2000N when the spring is at 90% of it's original length, hence the term "dual rate".

Everything that is set to 0 in this example should be kept at 0 in nearly all cases.
Don't copy paste this on your vehicle expecting this to work, it all depends on the weight of the vehicle and the placement of the shocks and springs.

This is just a basic explanation of what you should and shouldn't alter when using my shocks, with 2 extra damper support beams with lower precomp you should be able to simulate triple bypass shocks, this and further possibilities (Softbumps, helper springs etc.) require knowledge of how shocks work in real life.

Anyone may use this as they like, you may or may not mention me in the credits that's totally up to you.
Just to make clear: This is only a layout I created and am using to make offroad shocks ranging from simple to dual rate springs and triple bypass shocks. but remember, it's only a layout, not a style nor did I tune your shocks so please don't tie my name to any suspension tuning.

Re: everything toyota PRERUNNER BETTER SUSPENSION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for pointing something out, perhaps ADAM001 had to modify your famous suspension so it can fit his hilux properly? And could we stop arguing? we are getting nowhere by doing this, have a good day.

Perhaps you should stop right here right now as my explanation is not tied to any post of yours whatsoever.

Since the prerunner was updated it is so laggy. The stock and crawler version works fine and the prerunner used to but now it is so laggy even on grid map????

Works Great. Love driving around the prerunner, Might i suggest you tweak the diffs on the crawler version? ATM they act alot like a LSD.

Do all the trucks use the same .DAE? If so i could attempt to UV / AO the body, maybe even start on a interior (No promises as i have alot on my plate as it is.)

This is a really great mod but I have one complaint.

The Pre Runner should have a V8 option.

It was the update to the prerunner I found out that it is the front bumper that does it. If it don't use the front bumper then it runs fine??

I am getting rid of the crawler since the 3 link beats my crawler and making a crawler in with the stock toyota group so you shouldnt have troubles after the next update

    - - - Updated - - -

I am fully locked now on the diffs. Only the stock vertions are the same dae but the crawler is now the same as well. That would be great If you can when you have time!!

I also asked about this once. if you dont want to wait for update. than copy the v8 option from the stock files and copy them to the pre runeer files.

is the stock truck supposed to have the rear end lower? anyway. awesmoe mod man and awesome work.
