Detected virus in the demo download! (Fixed) This is a warning to everyone. When i downloaded the demo at the gamershell i got many unwanted programs installed and alot of trojans. And i am sure this is the right one linked by the website. I wont recommend trying it out before the dev have taken and look and mady host it on an other or the website they have. I most use half of my day cleaning my pc... ---- I am checking it and it might sent me to an other fake download this is the right link? http://www.gamershell.com/download_102365.shtml And the big red downlod button?
I have downloaded the demo, I've played the demo and I haven't encountered a virus. Are you sure you downloaded the techdemo from the official site and are you sure your anti-virus systems aren't overreacting? My anti-virus warned me too, that the BeamNG demo was a program I never used before, but I ignored it and everything works fine.
When i clicked it was a program named beamng And a proper instealler from the host website you have. but can you tell me the full link to where and what to click? Do i can make sure. I got a virus on the pc i am sure but like tell me to downloade and how and how the instaler look so i can make sure
You are the only person to complain about a virus, therefore, your credibility is quite low. I am 100% sure that you did not receive a vrius from the official BeamNG website (or gamershell).
Uninstall your antivirus and install a better one. This will solve your problems with viruses in everything.
Ok, i am sure i got sevreal virus but not from that downloade. And it is really good antivirus so i wont do that. Also gamershell instaler asked to install things like delta toolbar and some other addons. I clicked no but that installed. Is this right like it ask for that or was it a fake one? - - - Updated - - - After i did some searching i found the source: protector.dll adware... i am going to restart and try to be sure i click everything right (never happen before. Lets se)
That has happened to me before, but never has it caused a virus. Perhaps it is a malicious site you have visited?
I am going to try doing it 1 more time... Lets se if it wont try to install other bad stuff :/ its beamNG-Techdemo-0.3-setup.zip right?
If you need an antivirus software, I would suggest avast, malwarebytes, and Ccleaner. That should keep your PC running like new for ages!
Ccleaner is not antivirus. It simply cleans your pc of tiny files that gather over time from mainly the internet like cookies, browsing history, temp files, cache ect.
You clicked on the wrong download button, you hit the one that says 'Download Accelerator'... And don't try to say you didn't I just tried it out, it may have been on accident but you didn't click the right button which is the one that is the biggest and just says 'Download'. (The file should also be around 95 megabytes and come in a .zip)
Avast sucks, so does AVG, Norton, and McAfee... I defiantly agree with using MalwareBytes and CCleaner but for actually antivirus I highly recommend Microsoft Security Essentials, It is free and if you have Windows 8 you already have it but if your on Windows 7 like me it is great and works better than any antivirus program I've had!
Microsoft Security Essentials, really? The AVs that detects viruses first is usually Avira, ESET Nod32 and Kaspersky. Also, Comodo firewall is excellent since you can literally monitor every outgoing connection, and what a program does to your machine.
Well the virus did come from something else. Maby an add that leaded me to an fake download. Trying out the demo now and looks cool Sorry for the truble - - - Updated - - -
