This reminds me of "1nsane" alot!

This reminds me of an game i played alot with a friend doing freeroam cop chases the way the cars moves in cockpit view bring backs so much memories also..when you crash hard and the needles are all messed up LOL! But now its with the G27 its totally awesome (only wish the steering was 1:1 ratio,yes did shift+b but its not 100% accurate) really hope later this will have Free Roam Online with mods/maps..

 

Oh man, 1nsane! Hahaha that was a really impressive little game, I had a good deal of fun smashing cars as small as possible with people. Anyways, I'm downloading DRIVE now after testing the tech demo...Incredibly excited and cannot wait to begin modding!

 

That game was miles ahead on most racing games today. But 1nsane was a lot more forgiving than DRIVE is.

 

1nsane was and still is awesome. There is still a small online community making maps and cars for it check here and on Facebook here. There are some really talented vehicle and map makers from the 1nsane community and hope they give this game a try.

Oh man, I loved 1nsane. I actually still have it installed this many years later. Definitely some resemblance here. Someone should do up a version of the 1nsane motocross track for Drive.

 

I had forgotten about 1nsane. Aside from the Papyrus NASCAR games, the physics were well ahead of anything at that time. IMO, still ahead of many of the games released today. So few developers get it right. It must be a thing with bean counters. I give the Beamng guys props for paying attention to their followers and getting a lot of the little things right.

 

Well im glad alot of people knew 1nsane ^^ did you people see what 1nsane 2 is? ...its terrible...o_o

 

Awesome game! I think I may have only had the demo though from what I remember. Either from the PC Gamer magazines with the demo discs or from cnet downloads. Man, that was a while ago. I always had fun with 4x4 evolution too but I don't think that had damage. Good times...

 

There were a lot of great games (Interstate 76, Stuntman, Driver, Destruction Derby) that had terrible sequels. Makes you wonder what developers are thinking after following up a great game with something so disappointing.

I will say Driver San Francisco and the GTA games are awesome fun though.

 

1nsane was so awesome, one of the best driving games i have ever played!

i think ROR is too difficult to understand.

Drive is so promising i can't wait for more updates

 

The reason for 1nsane 2 was so terrible is because another company made it. The first one was made by codemasters and the second was made by targem games (a russian company).

On another note: Wouldn`t it be epic if 1nsane was re-made with BeamNG`s physics?

 

The original was actually made by Invictus - Codemasters only marketed it badly (and then pulled the plug on the servers after only a couple of years )

1nsane was actually the older brother of a game called Terep 2 (or "Deformers") - the original soft-body game

 

Ah the old days of 1nsane were great! It was the first game I modded. I spent more time downloading mods than playing it I think!
