Welcome to my first Thread/Mod. After working on this model for several weeks, I think its time for a thread of its own. This is the first vehicle I have modeled so please bear with me as I develop my knowledge into vehicle creation. Feel free to leave constructive criticism where it is appropriate. Any Mk7 owners - I would appreciate it if you could leave a comment :p

Originally this started as a small summer project to familiarize myself with 3D modelling.

    Progress:

    • Bodyshell - Near Completion [Continuous Refinement Stage]
    • Subframe & Suspension - Near Completion
    • Interior - Near Completion
    • Engine - Near Completion
    • Jbeam - Not Started

    Planned Trims:
    • GTI
    • R
    • Some cheap low end version
    Thanks to:
Racer19 (Razer11) for making the GTI Rims and helping me with fixing issues with the model
Juju for helping me iron out issues in the initial stages of modelling
Zappymouse for various modelling solutions & subframe refinement
22rlux for the basic engine model

    Things I'm working on now:

    Bodyshell refinement
    Trim levels

Is the interior as good as the exterior?

He made the model from blueprints, I saw him model on skype. Please don't say this kind of stuff without looking closely and comparing the models. It's his first model, and its really good considering the amount of time he spent learning to use blender.
Your link even shows it as a 3 door, Rage's one is a 5 door.

That's some very very early stage, and as we seen with many cars like that here they end up dying in the process.. I hope that will not be the case here, as it looks good so far.

    Good luck

I apologize for not doing my homework. It looks really good, when I saw it I wasn't convinced it wasn't a professionally made model or Forsa rip, so I looked up the model. So I guess I'm saying take it as a compliment.

Still, here's the 5 door version: https://3dexport.com/3dmodel-volkswagen-golf-gti-5-door-2015-87910.htm and if you're using that for reference, I gotta hand it to you for a really good eye for detail.

Tip: don't quote a post with large pictures in it.

OT: Really nice work, Rage! Just what we need for BeamNG. My S.O.'s mother drives a Golf VII GTE, so if you need reference pictures/info just ask :)
