Said they guy who ran in front of a car for fun xD [Im taking the piss btw] That really depends upon your family history as well as many other things. But you have a fair point, even I made it until some point around 13 or 14 before I started to get issues. But my Dad for example has done exercise for most of his life on a regular basis and has loads of problems with his joints, its just a fairly crap bloodline I guess. I dont think either of his parents made it to 70. His dad had Parkinsons, my mums granddad did as well, so that could potentially be an issue for me at some point. But who knows what the future holds anyway (other than doctors potentially). But i certainly recommend looking after yourself and keeping fit and healthy since that tends to make the mental side of things quite a bit easier. It will also help to prevent or minimize the effects of anything you may run into in the future. [parents voice] So make sure to eat your greens and sit up at the table to keep good posture and do enough of exercise [/parents voice], but seriously, its a good idea.
I'd say posture is damn valid and I noticed so many mistakes that are going to give people issues in the posting desks thread.... Here we go, I am 21, I already started to suffer back and wrist issues from posture... Actually made changes and basically recovered. Now I still have wrist issues thanks to a work injury this last week xD Although thats sorting itself out with some rest.
Yeah, so many computer monitors at what looks to be the wrong height While my current office chair is pretty bad in terms of allowing for good posture since it pushes shoulders forward and does a naff job of my back, I am slightly concerned at what my office chair will look like when i move into uni accommodation. Perhaps I might be able to get myself a used Herman Miller (or other brand) chair from ebay if it turns out to be awful.
Keyboard and mouse locations too.... But hey ho. Its their wrists and necks not ours. Seriously guys, its not parents or whatever being overprotective, it does genuinely lead to issues.
So my eyes are supposed to be level with the top of my monitor? Well, if I sit up and don't lean back they are. Which means I have good posture, right? Even though I never do that?
Eat, sleep, and drink. Take care of yourself, I've been sick for a week and haven't died. I try to live.
I'd be dead if it wasn't for these forums. Imagine if I wasn't here, everyone would still be sane, and that's not fun!
You know a few weeks ago when I posted about going insane? Well, I think being diagnosed with "the brain of an adult"* at the age of 7 by the best (and only) neurologist in my region does sort of contribute to that. *Yes the neurologist actually said it like that.
Haven't taken a good look at the RoR forums for at least a few months, they've really run it into the ground- these forums need a course change and a hard slap in the face or that's where we're going too...
