    i have found a sketchup model of an audi A8 on sketchup im in the proccess of contacting the owner to get permission to use the model, how do i export to blender or beamng?

    Texture it. Them jbeam it. Then finally release it to the public.

    i dont know how to do that :p, i dont know if i can release it to the public because the sketchup model isnt mine?

    Before you export the model from Blender, you need a jbeam structure. Which is a physical representation of the vehicle made with nodes/beams, that takes lots of hard work to create. The 3d model doesn't affect anything.

    Nope. Besides, a simple jbeam wouldn't accomplish anything. It wouldn't simulate the vehicle and therefore it wouldn't even act right.

    idk then, ive seen only one other a7 on beamng, but it got cancelled, couldent i just copy another jbeam from an ingame car? and give credit etc?

    Then it'd drive just like that vehicle, instead of the vehicle you're exporting to the game.

    B25Mitch made a tutorial at some point on how to create a jbeam and put a 3d mesh on it. You could use the 3d mesh part of that for an existing one.

    This type of modding is highly frowned upon but nobody is stopping you from doing it though.

    If someone could find the link to B25Mitch's tutorial and post it, it'd be appreciated. I have no clue where it is.
