You normally lose 10-15% through the drivetrain. 15% alone would bring you to 283 at the wheel when new, although 10% brings a nice 300hp at the wheel still. I'd say 260-280 would be a nice fair game for it to be sat in, but only the dyno knows.

But then my 113hp, most of that will be gone now xD. It can still spin the tyres with a hard powershift from 1st to 2nd, my corsa couldnt even do a peely...

Sooo.... the Ranger may have a slight oil leak. It's only been in the street 6 days...

Maybe the V8 swap is closer than I think...

freaking oil on my 2008 BMW 535xi keeps leaking into the pan. Brought it back to the dealer, might not return this courtesy car as this isn't my first time paying to get the oil system fixed lol.

Well polishing got boring so I painted it, with about 10 hours of prep work, come out pretty good I reckon.

Also painted the cambelt cover/shield whatever, can't wait to see how it looks when it's all together :) Which should be tomorrow when I get my gasket.

(Actually took it off after this pic and repainted it after some sanding, didn't like the marks)

Did another attempt at pin striping. Saw this style on another blazer and i liked it, so decided to do it on my own.

    Please punctuate.
My trans leak is getting worse and I'm leaving stains everywhere I park for more an hour or two so I need to do something about it. A new motorcraft gasket is $25 at the cheapest, so I'm just gonna make a gasket out of gasket maker and see if it works. If it doesn't, whatever, I'll just cough up the money for a gasket.
I do need to order the o-ring thingy for the gear shift linkage, because its leaking pretty badly too.

    Manual swap.

Actually. You're going to weld up a custom bellhousing to mount a toyota W50 transmission just to totally make a few crown vic owners flip their shit.

I know its a sin, but I don't really mind the automatic in the crown vic.
Also, I stopped by a dealer just to see how much a gasket would be straight from ford. 40 bucks. lolno

For the Escort, a stock head unit with the cassette player, is worth more than my whole car. $400 vs $431.20.

It's so sad. I can buy a whole car with that, or a completely new stereo system with new everything and more for it.

Yeah, rephrase that post. I whipped up a little system that is only 20 bucks more than that crap cassette player.

What did I do to the Escort besides scoff at cassette players? Nothing, because I'm coughing up a storm and didn't feel like working on it today.

Things not to do while getting your A4 into Service Position #63, #8, and #15:

Damn near break your back, drop the carrier, and spill your bucket of coolant, respectively.

    In rapid succession.

Replacing the wrecked OEM rubber snub mount with a polyurethane number (that blue thing near the crank pulley) fixed my long running clunk-on-acceleration-and-deceleration issue, which is handy-dandy, since I wasn't keen on replacing the engine and tranny mounts when there are no signs of damage. I can finally give it the absolute beans and not feel bad about it!

    Best $40 I've spent in a while :)

I also resoldered the joints for the ribbon cable in the climate control module to get the control panel operational again. Good stuff.
