Whoa whoa sorry Mate I wasn't trying to shit on the game or anything. haha The reason I was asking is that I've been playing BeamNg Drive for a while now and it was within the last 2 or 3 months I noticed it... Again, if the game is working correctly and I am just being dumb then by all means that is fine... I just want to confirm that. So when I shift into 1st, I should use manual and do the clutch myself, and that should preform better? That is how I read that
Well, yes manual transmissions tend to launch better. You can also use the "clutch" to rev an automatic car in "arcade auto" mode. That might help if the engine is bogging down. 4wd cars without a lot of hp will just slip the clutch/torque converter though instead of doing a burnout. Too much traction. I hope I didn't sound too defensive. You brought up a good point about the launches, and I don't mean to stifle criticism. But I like to try and clarify when I think there are good explanations, so that people don't feel "blargh the game is broken", instead can learn more about how the game works or even how cars work.
Ok so I started playing around with the Van...and... wow! The game works just as I remember it. The van feels powerful (As in, as powerful as you'd expect a v8 van to be, nothing outrageous) and took off pretty well! I was shocked, so...it seems that some cars are fine and others...are strange lol. Wait... going off of my automotive training and such... automatic's should "launch" faster due to toque converter torque multiplication, or whatever they call it now days. Down the line, of course manuals fly past them. But being able to instantly slam the Torque Converter with 8,000 rpm's of power tends to cause it to rocket off the road lol. I would love to see the Covette, (isn't that the name of the little "honda") to use a Locking Torque Converter. Would be interesting
