1w of power, nice... If you only plan on using it at home (and places that will have their own amps such as school etc) you may be better of using your speakers until you can afford a nicer amp. While speakers may not sound as good as an amp they will give you ~$40 extra towards buying an amp since you already own them, depending on the design of the speakers they may actually sound better than the cheap amp, its probably worth a test. You may need an adapter or cable to connect them depending on what you have at home. The amp will give you some effects though which the speakers probably wont. But if its just a temporary thing until you can get something better it may be worthwhile? Headphones will also work equally to speakers, you just need a 1/4inch jack adapter if your headphones only have a 3.5mm jack. Then you can practice knowing no one will hear you screw up

Here is something interesting. The C++ version of minecraft can be edited a bit to run any render distance. Normal minecraft maxes at 512 blocks, this uses 2 of my cores to the max, a lot of ram, and dumps my fps into the mid teens. The C++ version (which is coded for mobile, so is a bit lightweight) gets a smooth 45-60 fps at 512, uses 2-3GB of RAM (instead of 6-7) and uses 4 cores fairly evenly at about 50-60% usage. I decided to see what it would take to kill minecraft. The answer is 4096 blocks. 8 times the amount java minecraft does. Here it used almost all my ram and CPU time, but it was still smooth. Probably somewhere between 15-20, but smooth. It also didn't have too many loading issues, though I think being on an SSD helped. (imported from here)
I don't know much about the amp. It looks good though. I have a Roland Microcube (2 watts) and a Peavy Vypr 30. I love them both. As for the guitar. I almost bought that same guitar. It seems to be really good. I'd say you have a few more choices though. You can pay a bit more to get the Squire Affinity Strat. Or you can get an Epiphone Les Paul Special, if you want that style of guitar more. Or you can get what I got, a Yamaha Pacifica. I got mine for $200. From what I know, all of the, are great choices anyway. So if you get the bullet strat, you should be happy.
I guess im going to be away from school for another day or two and im going to be away a couple of more days next week but at least I have a good amount of NCEA credits.
I just sold the K&N intake. Now I've got more than enough money to replace the VCG, as well as do some other minor things to the M3.
Speaking about guitars, my brother is fortunate enough to have a 60's era Gibson J45 and a Korean made PRS Custom 24 with a Line 6 POD HD500X... Oh and an Arturia Microbrute Synth. Pretty cool setup he has too pretty close to a home studio if he could afford the software for it.
Wow. I don't know way too much about guitars, but enough to now he's lucky. And speaking of synths, I want one. Especially a keytar. Keytar's are awesome. I've been planning to get a Roland Lucina AX-09 for a year now, but I just found out a few days ago that they're discontinued... They were only $200-$300 from most retailers......
The Arturia equipment is super nice. I have an Arturia Beatstep, Novation Mininova, Yamaha p50m and an Akai lpk25. But i agree on the software front. The build quality on Arturia stuff is amazing. I use Ableton Live 9 Lite because im not really wanting to spend £149 (that's under an educational discount as well, usually its £100 more than that) on the software and i dont really want to pirate it either. But hey, many people have coped with 8 tracks in the past, therefore i can cope with them now. Then there are vst's to fill many of the gaps. If they were to discount the educational price down to under or equal to £100 i would probably go for it providing i had the money at the time.

While the topic of synths and audio equipment is abound, could anyone recommend an adaptable, reliable, and user-friendly softsynth? My dream is to someday hook up a good synthesizer to one of these bad boys when I get the money and skill (and who wouldn't want their own cinematic orchestra). SunVox is powerful and free, but won't cut it for what I'd need, and I haven't spent enough time with LMMS to know what it can and can't do. Cheap would be ideal, but isn't a requirement.
Softsynth = software and not some other "soft" word, right? If you're looking for something that you can control with a computer (whether it's through a computer keyboard and key emulation software or a MIDI controller instrument), I'd recommend the Korg Legacy pack. The main focus of it is the 1988 Korg M1 which is relatively simple (just picking samples, mixing, attack/delay etc), but it also includes more complex ones, including one where you're essentially connecting circuitry like on an older synth. (imported from here) The top right one is the one I'm talking about, the MS-20. Buying the whole package is a bit expensive at $199, but you can get each synth individually for $49 it seems.
Aw man, anti-weed ads are the worst. I'm talking more about anti-cigarette stuff, though. I do think that cigarettes are nasty and I don't really get why people smoke them, but I just don't like the propaganda against it. I guess it's just because I'm a firm believer in letting people make the decisions themselves and not trying to brainwash them either way.
