What have you done to install the mod? Make sure you put the files in BeamNG's install folder, and make sure you added the turbo code to the engine section of a car's engine.jbeam.
Ok what I did. I opened up the BeamNG Steam folder. There I copied the Art and lua folder as a save. The I put in the new folders. Then I went to the pessima wagon folder in mods. There I opened the engine.jbeam. And then I pasted the code under the 2.7 L V6 engine code. But I dont here any noises what so ever I have 2 pictures too
What I understood here is that you didn't overwrite anything, so you just moved them somewhere else and put mine instead. If I'm not wrong, the game won't work that way. The correct install way is to make a backup of the folders, then copy/paste my edits and put them with the old folders and overwrite everything.
the best way for me is put the edited file in the mods folder, so youd dont have to overwrite anithing
I must say, This has to be one of the coolest things I've ever messed around with in BeamNG. I had a GM 3.1L V6 in the Pessima. It made 155hp stock but based on the 1psi=6% power it is putting down 275hp. Massive power in cars that aren't made for it are really fun. It worked right for me right from installation.
Hi! Hummmm, very good idea this Turbo! Certainly a best drive sensation and with my G27 I think it is epic! But sorry it is a mystery for me to do working it.... Nahuelito do you put the zip file to the folder mod? Or is it an other manip?(dont work for me) Maximum, I install exactely like you say (I dont change any code), so the game crash 3 time before working but no turbo to listen... I think you should explain a little more for the noobs..
I may be way off base here but couldn't a pre-modified engine.jbeam be made for each vehicle/engine and posted? Umma gonna' go get some more coffee.
It would probably help if we had a video-based installation tutorial for those who can't get the mod to work. I'll make one when I have time. - - - Updated - - - For those who can't get the mod working, I made a very quick installation tutorial. It's not great, but it should get the job done.
I've had this happen before. Try copying the vehicle_engine.jbeam file and pasting it in the new folder in your documents instead of doing a drag+drop. Shouldn't make a difference, but it worked for me when I had the problem.
Got it to work, this is amazing. Although taller gears and higher clutch torque numbers do help, it still feels quite unnatural to have almost no ability of acceleration on the low rpm's. No matter what gear ratios or clutch torque numbers I use, I still can't get it where you can still accelerate at a fair pace on the low rpm's, while having enough grip from the clutch on the high rpm's. Someone said something about wheel nodes. which specific ones should I modify? Edit: Simply added torque to the low end, helped alot.
I've noticed that as of patch 0.4.2.0, the turbo simulation no longer appears to work and causes the game to freeze/crash upon loading. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed pretty soon, as this mod became a must have for me.
The turbo simulation is getting officially implemented in the game now, so I won't post updates anymore.
