1989 Ibishu Pessima

The point of the discussion is to talk about the car so every one of those pictures do have a point in the discussion (as they are peoples views on what the car might of been based off as gabes cars are inspired by real cars).

Its not like someone is posting a picture of a sandwich.

lets go back to talking about a liftback pessima as it is a good idea (I don't care if no one likes my idea)

90's Pessima will be a godsend of destruction. Given the boxier lines of this thing I imagine the deformation will be absolutely epic.

 

random question: will this be in the car selector in the 1996 pessima just like the roamer and the d-series?

 

the 89 pessima might have a different engine but it might use some of the parts from the 1998 but don't forget they are made in different decades so the technology will be different.

they might seem the same but they are different.


maybe they can make a 4WS version of the 89 pessima to show how bad the idea of four wheel steering is.

First off 4WS isnt bad at all, secondly its highly unlikely an 80's econo box would have AWD never mind 4WS...

 

Hmmm, the 626 (Which everyone says this car looks like) did have 4WS



Looks rather sexy with those shiny wheels and the graphics on there.

Maybe this car could have a sport version.

Since it's an 80s Japanese car maybe we'll even see a Digidash in the higher trim.



4WS isn't bad, it helps with cornering and parking.... The only thing i would see wrong with it is that there's extra weight and parts to break.

 

The Pessima is a funny car after that :

 

It was also an optional part and only for the 5 door and coupe only. It only really existed since at the time other manufacturers like Honda were experimenting with it. It would be a neat option though none the less but not so much an average or standard option.

 

Just sayin, with a few quite simple customizations the 200bx can have 4ws, the irs allows it, it just makes no point.

 

4WS is fun if you mod it to be AWD though.
If you do that it'll be the ultimate donut machine
Other than that it really doesn't make sense.

 

I did do my research before I made the suggestion and I did find the 626 had 4 wheel steering, well if 4 wheel steering was good they would still use it in modern cars but is there any 2016 cars with optional 4 wheel steering no not really I think I heard from my father that 4 wheel steering was bad when the car got older as it meant it was more mechanical things to go wrong.

and I read on popular mechanics it would sometimes mean scary handling.

 

You need to start thinking for yourself than taking 1 source as fact. Renault laguna at least upto very recently retained 4WS.


The reason its not everywhere is because of cost versus gain. It is an improvement, but doesnt usually justify the cost of adding it and yes is more to go wrong. But in a multilink rear end you already have a control arm for controlling the toe of the wheel throughout the range of motion, its not that complex to add a steering rack + track rods instead of the control arms. One major thing it was meant to deal with was twitchy steering at high speeds, but modern cars just reduce power steering assist instead, works just as well.


You do seem to enjoy sprouting crap about certain things being bad, just because your dad says so.

I blame my sources of information but then its rare in modern cars and i haven't seen any new cars in New Zealand with 4WS.


I should really stop listening to my dad as he has a negative view on everything but then some of the things he say are right though.
